After watching this video and with slow-motion audio, it is clear that the person in the crowd at the Palin rally was shouting "redistributor", not "he's a ni**." If you don't believe me, check it out

I didn't think so. I certainly didn't hear it and the other diary had the wrong focus. You don't look for Palin's reaction. If someone had shouted the n-word there would have been reaction from the crowd. Even at a GOP rally they are not going to tolerate a term like that. I played it repeatedly listening for some type of booing or shouting down and when it was absent I was convinced there was no n-word. But I couldn't have come up with the term redistributor.

Frankly, when I read it was atop the recommended list at DailyKos I was immediately skeptical, before viewing the video.

Anybody back that up? If this is true then I think W is hitting these rallies in drag cuz that's a Bushism if ever I heard one!

The well is dry over there in Hateland, USA.

Lets enjoy this now because in a couple months we own ALL of this mess they created and they'll have time to regroup. We'll have the biggest target on our back we've ever had in 2010. The celebration now will be intense and sweet, but we'll need to get back to work almost immediately.

Laugh hard, its a long ways to the bank.

Thanks for setting the record straight. Not that I doubt there are stupid Repub supporters (or stupid Obama supporters), but the diary posted earlier, that by the way was highly rec'd, posed no talking points that could be aimed at the Repub VP candidate. There's plenty, without looking for hyperbole.

Cops: Ohio man fired at teens who vandalized his McCain lawn signs

OCTOBER 28--Angered that two neighborhood teenagers knocked over a John McCain sign on his lawn, an Ohio man allegedly grabbed a rifle and fired three times at the duo as they sought to drive away from his Warren Township home.

Kenneth Rowles, 50, was charged with felonious assault in connection with the Saturday afternoon incident, which resulted in one boy suffering a minor bullet wound. According to a Warren Township Police Department report, Patrick Wise, 16, yelled, "This is for Obama" as he knocked over the McCain sign. Wise's cousin, Kyree Flowers, 17, was waiting in the passenger seat of the SUV, which was struck by three bullets fired by Rowles. One bullet hit Flowers in the arm, while another shattered the passenger's and driver's side windows.

Rowles, pictured in the above mug shot, claimed in a police interview that he "shot three times attempting to scare the subjects." Shortly after the October 25 confrontation, Rowles called police to complain about two instances in which his McCain signs had been vandalized, but never bothered to mention that he had, minutes earlier, fired at a vehicle carrying Wise and Flowers.

As Officer Daniel Peterson was getting into his squad car to leave, Rowles stopped him to ask about a new Ohio law allowing homeowners to protect their property. "I told him that it would be stupid for someone to get shot or injured over an election sign and he agreed," Peterson wrote in his report, which you'll find below.

Police seized 11 long guns and four pistols from Rowles's home, and recovered two spent .22-caliber shell casings from his driveway. If convicted of the assault charge, Rowles faces up to eight years in prison.

This moran is lucky he didn't kill one of those kids and be looking at life in prision.

Gun dude was wrong but (none / 0)

there is no excuse for knocking down political signs, even if they are for McCain.

Kids should have known better. I'm not saying they should have been shot at, but they definitely were in the wrong.

This is the second version of that tape segment to come out, and it sounds doctored as all hell.
I'm not falling for the Jedi Mind Trick, I heard the original, and I know what I heard.
The 'redistributor' argument doesn't make any sense, who the hell shouts that at a rally? People don't even talk that way, especially among the mouth-breathing ranks of Whackjob Inc., where people feel totally comfortable screaming, "Kill him", "Off with his head", etc. It's funny, the level of denial that would go into believing that 'ni**er' is such a stretch for this crowd, who's a half-step away from pitchforks and torches. Even funnier, to discount her reaction, where she's obviously put off balance, and tries speaking louder to drown out any following asshattery (but only because of how it would reflect on her) or that of the woman on her left, the nasty little grin, that reaction doesn't come from hearing something benign as 'redistributor'.
I confronted the Kos crowd about this as well: It's one thing to be abhorred by racism, but to try wishing it away by trickery, or by silencing anyone who complains about it, is bullshit, and an insult to common sense.
So yeah, it was said, but I'm not surprised. This wishful-thinking revision is a load. I've lived in this country long enough to know better, and what "Real Americans" are capable of when they feel they're in secure company.
Nice try though.
