Mitt rooting for Obambi!!!! (With a fun poll)

Rumors have it that Mitt Romney circle of advisers are rooting for a big Obama win. They contend that if Obama can attract a huge swath of the independents votes they might be able to strangle John Mcain and eke out a victory. Well, it's no longer a rumor. This morning on CNN Bay Buchanan made it clear that they are quietly rooting for Obama and would be happy if the independents votes swing his way during the primary suggesting that come election time they would return under the Republican tent.

Yeaahh! Obama going to get most of the independent votes but she's wrong with her insinuation about the general election. Hey can't blame her, she wants her man to win.

I'm rooting for Mitt too, as I think that McCain will be the toughest to beat--though Obama, with his ability to attract independents and new voters stands the best chance against him.

An Obama-Romney election would likely go quite well for us.  He's a clumsy attacker like Hillary and Obama would make him look silly.  I guess I support the Romney campaign's agenda in this instance.

any of our candidates would beat Romney (none / 0)

Sadly, I think he's out of contention.

Re: any of our candidates would beat Romney (none / 0)

You may be right, but things are a lot more flexible over on the Republican side because all their candidates basically suck.  I guess we'll know more tonight.

Mitt is a phony but I don't think he will pull it off bc even if Obama is definitely gonna help him it won't be enough because he doesn't do well with Republicans who despise Mcain

Well okay do you guys finally understand what I've been saying about how the GOP really wants to run against Obama? Bay Buchanan finally admitted it. This is what the GOP believes.

Re: Mitt rooting for Obambi!!!! (With a fun poll) (none / 0)

Wanting Obama to win for the strategic reason that it helps keep McCain's vote total low in the GOP primary is quite different from the thesis you're advancing.

I guess you missed the statement about them returning to the GOP fold in the general election then.

No, I didn't miss it, I just don't think this helps prove your point in the slightest.

My point being that this is what the GOP thinks and what the goppers here are saying. I think you're making another point.

Re: Mitt rooting for Obambi!!!! (With a fun poll) (none / 0)

The thesis you advancing doesn't seem plausible. Buckanan was trying to spin the fact Independents and Republicans are voting overwhelmingly for Obama not in the Republicans primary but she was very please because that might help Mitt.
