There will be no paid lobbyists in an Edwards White House! W/Video of JRE on "This Week"

John Edwards appeared on "This Week" today from New Hampshire after his powerful debate performance, last night.

During the show, Stephanopoulos brought up the subject of paid lobbyists to which Edwards forcefully answered, "there will be no paid lobbyists" in an Edwards White House.

Edwards is the only candidate who is backing up his call for change with bold, progressive plans and a committment to take on the entrenched interests to return our democracy to the people.

Georgie is no match for Edwards.

So true!

George thought he'd trip up Edwards on that lobbyist question by bringing up trial attorneys. Ha! Didn't happen of course.

Edwards was great on that.

Great work, Amy, in getting the video so fast.

Re: There will be no paid lobbyists in an Edwards (2.00 / 2)

I didn't take it that way at all.

Yes, they not all special interest groups are the same but the point is, Edwards is not going to allow our democratic process to be corrupted by money---by those who are paid to use big money to influence our legislation.

Re: There will be no paid lobbyists in an Edwards (none / 0)

No other candidate has the guts to make this promise!
That tells me a lot about Obama and Hillary whose political careers have been FUNDED by Washington lobbyists.

Obama won't even make a pledge to reject donations from Washington lobbyists. Therefore - it appears his sudden rejection of their donations is just a political ploy.

For weeks the Media has been reading a Script (2.00 / 3)

a Script that has been "trying to write Edwards out" of the Race, due to "not having enough resources"
(thanks markos)

Funny it seems like Edwards didn't get their memo, LOL!

Edwards told George straight out "I'm going all the way to the Convention -- and then to the White House"

George was:  But, but, that's not in the Script ...

Geesh, it looks like this WILL be an Election,
and not a Auction afterall,
and not a coronation by Media, either!

Way to go, John Edwards!

I loved that comment, it made this supporter re-energize that we're all in it for the long haul!

Why does the MSM keep trying to end his campaign?

Even on MTP, it was Obama v. Hillary, but I swore JE was at that same debate...lol.

As some predicted, the only mention was his attacking Hillary and/or aligning with Obama.

The media has given Obama a pass! (2.00 / 3)

The COR (corporate owned media) prefers a candidate whose career has been funded by corporate lobbyists.
A candidate who will negotiate with corporate lobbyists - because the corporations always win - and "we the people" lose.

You're supporting a candidate who's been promoted by the COR 24/7 - and Obama owes THEM now.

Obama helped kill UHC in Illinois - cause he was in bed with lobbyists.

no paid lobbyists in an Edwards White House! (2.00 / 1)

Is it just my imagination, or does Stephanopoulos HATE John Edwards?  I watched it on TV, and that impression came through loud and clear.  When an interviewer is all but calling his guest dishonest, a phony, and a loser, how strong is that guest supposed to be?

Under the circumstances, JRE did well, staying on message, and answering Georgie Boy's sneers...oh, sorry....questions with firm, unequivocal answers.

Take out the trash. Down with Saxby Chambliss!

Yeah and as soon as you get hurt or screwed over by big brother or some big corporation, or even your neighbor down the street, the first person you're going to call is a Trial lawyer. Lincoln was a trial lawyer. What is your disdain for trial lawyers, you are disgusting.
