MSNBC: ALL-Hillary, NO Edwards -Write them, NOW.

Are you as upset as I am about the Great Media Blackout on John Edwards?

And Yes, it's MSNBC, too.

Step up to the plate, batter up, and let's hit one out of the park!
Write a letter to MSNBC, our closest link to "real" journalism in Traditional Media, and let them know how you feel.

SEND MSNBC A MESSAGE:

I want to hear about John. Stop spinning it - give me hard facts!

viewerservices@msnbc.com
___________

Suggested letter:

Dear MSNBC,

You are ignoring John Edwards - it is noticed, and increasingly not appreciated. We can find all the news we want about Hillary and Barack on lots of other stations. I am tired of hearing the same spin on the same candidates.

Please give me hard facts and updates on the Edwards Campaign.

Thank you.

Most sincerely,
____________

Now go do YOUR letter - you'll feel good all day.
You know you want to ...

It is a dangerous trend when (2.00 / 1)

smart people whom I know don't really know where their candidate stands in detail on the issues.

People like my older family members - people who unfailingly vote out of their love for this Country, yet who continually surprise me with their lack of knowledge on the differences between the candidates.

Our Traditional Media has pulled a Blackout on the candidate who's vowed to fight the huge corporations squeezing our Middle Class, but you wouldn't know it. Not if you're older, not google-savvy, and don't even have a computer.

Anyone else getting this?

Most shocking to me, is that MSNBC (2.00 / 1)

is better than most.

And the one station upon whom so many feel we could [somewhat] depend, is not stepping up to the plate.

I agree with those who say we should email and contact ALL the stations who are not adequately and fairly covering the candidates.

I mean, how much more clubby chitchat do we really want to hear?

Please post this (2.00 / 1)

at DailyKos and other places.

Already up at Kos today. - Thanks!! (2.00 / 1)

Go there now and check the myriad diaries on the Media Blackout - it's quite amazing ...

And I wish that "regular Americans" would be aware of it.

Re: Already up at Kos today. - Thanks!! (2.00 / 1)

I also emailed John's campaign thru his website "Contact Us" form to alert to all the "Media Blackout" diaries going on 'round the blogs today, esp. the ones at Kos that I've noticed.

I replied, too, to the mass email that he sent regarding tonight's 11:15 pm conf. call after the debate ...

Don't know if it's helpful, but they should be aware that the "Media Blackout" has not gone unnoticed.

All (2.00 / 1)

attack Hillary all day.  I would be happy if they spent all day attacking Edwards and saying he was finished.
So I used the email address to ask them to have on some pundits who are not so obviously trying to buy Clinton and just cover all the candidates fairly.  I suggested Rachel Maddow and Olberman.

Re: Media Fairness (none / 0)

Yes - "Media Clarity" or "Fairness" vs. "Media Blackout."

It seems that quite a few of the candidates had no real coverage and were summarily dismissed by the "Kingmakers" at Traditional Media, Inc.

p.s. - I don't pay high cable bills just to hear (none / 0)

about one or two candidates ALL. DAY. LONG.

Maybe I should deduct lost teevee time from my cable bill ... perhaps that would get some attn.

My message (2.00 / 1)

The following is what I have sent to MSNBC and will be sending shortly to ALL of the other major news outlets.

To whom it may concern,

I and many other viewers are noticing a huge lack of coverage of John Edwards. Why is this? He came in second in Iowa and is surging in New Hampshire yet we still hear about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, like they are the only candidates that exist. Why is this?

I and others are not asking for more coverage of John Edwards then the others, just equal coverage. The media is not supposed to make candidates they are supposed to report the facts and the truths.

I look forward to following your coverage of tonights NH debate and the rest of the election cycle. I and others will be watching for a more balanced coverage.

Thank you,
--
Kevin

Re: My message (2.00 / 1)

Wow!! - Fantastic and hard-hitting message, Kevin!

Most excellent!

Perhaps you can post it at one of the current Recommended Diaries at Kos ... since it will get more viewers ... I think my original diary has scrolled off the screen, tho I've linked it in a couple other diaries. :)

Here's one that's moving up fast, and has a thread on "Media Blackout" ... http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/5/1 75620/5255/951/431276

Re: MSNBC: ALL-Hillary, NO Edwards -Write them, NO (2.00 / 1)

The media are afraid of both Hillary and Edwards. Their strategy, ignore Edwards and attack Hillary.

It is becoming patently obvious that you are correct.

Thanks, moi moi!
