I have been looking at the internals of polls that have come out after the whole south carolina election and ted keneddy and he seems not to have gotten any bounce from it , it actually looks like her support is getting firmer.

South Carolina is proving to be somewhat of an aberration in terms of how her broad support collapsed ( women , old etc) , across the Feb 5 states that have polled that broad coalition that helped in NH is still intact.

Another Tenessee poll out and she is ahead due to that base.

" Barack Obama may have won the South Carolina primary big, but in another southern
state with a much smaller black population he is not gaining a ton of momentum. Hillary
Clinton leads the state by a 43-32 margin. John Edwards is lagging at 16%.

the additional issue here is that it also contradicts the idea he's this civil, non-partisan guy. so not really sure: part of me thinks that this is an inconsequential, passing storm. It's certainly passing, but it may have consequences -- particularly when contrasted with obmama's moving rhetoric about togetherness.

I just can't seem to grasp what others see in Obama that I don't. I just see a man with the gift of gab who seems to have an excuse for every questionable thing that he's ever done. "Boneheaded/" No, Barrack, when you call upon a corrupt friend to assist you in purchasing a home, it's not "boneheaded", it's just a form of stupidity....stupidity that we can't stomach in a candidate for President of the United States of America. Rude, petty.....yes, he's proven himself to be a much smaller man than he projects himself to be.

I'm still not getting what Senator Obama actually did wrong.  If Sen. Clinton and Sen. Kennedy were shaking hands and having a conversation, what would have been the "proper" reaction, to stare her down?  If someone you were talking to gets approached, it's natural to turn and find someone else to talk to.

But let's turn this around a little bit:  If Obama and Kennedy were standing side by side and Sen. Clinton went to shake Sen. Kennedy's hand first, does that means she snubbed Obama by not acknowledging her presidential rival?

I don't think he snubbed her...I don't think she snubbed him.  I don't think they like each other very much at this point, but that doesn't mean this was anything more than one snapshot in time from a distance away with no context other than what Sens. Obama and McCaskill have already said.

I don't know whether this is going to have an impact on what happens next Tuesday, but I hope it doesn't.  We're electing a president, not 7th grade class officers.  I just think it's trying to score cheap points.

To me it looks like she is concentrating (because it is noisy) on making sure she hears whatever he is saying.

I actually tend to make a similar slightly scrunched face/head position when I am trying to hear over noise.

Obama had a good day yesterday. And yet he is still so nasty and insecure that he had to snub his Democratic rival. He couldn't help himself, since he doesn't feel that he should have to compete with anyone---the field should just be cleared for him. Then he lies about it and tries to not take responsibility for it, just like he doesn't take responsiblity by voting "present" or "pushing the wrong button."

And all his rabid followers make more excuses for him. Pathetic.

And may I just say that Claire McCaskill is a nasty, lying little piece of work, too.

I know that Obama supporters don't see this incident as a big deal, but I think it's pretty bad when you have mainstream infotainment outlets talking about "the snub" like Inside Edition or the View. Way more people watch those shows than the cable news outlets....
