because of the growing crowd, the event started a little late. jim dean, chair of democracy for america, kicked things off. talking about the importance of direct voter contact and why mark pera should be the next congressman from the 3rd. local dfa leaders carried on, introducing pera to the rally.
mark himself was a bit humbled by the size of the crowd and the support shown there. but he was also raring to go, as was evident at the conclusion of his remarks. despite the need to hang around to sign the check, he was eager to get out and knock on doors, and talk to more voters.
all in all, a good event, one that will be repeated in the next few days over and over. pera has spent considerable time shaking hands at train stations and knocking on doors talking to voters. he's been calling undecideds on the phone, answering their questions and winning their support. the election is a week away, and mark pera is ready to lead...
