Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Another Maine summer has nearly come and gone and our grassroots campaign to reclaim the values of the Democratic Party and change the direction of the nation continues to gain momentum heading into the fall.
I've spent much of this summer connecting with voters across the First District, from marching in parades to speaking at picnics and lobster bakes to meeting new supporters at house parties.
Some of my highlights included marching in the Bath Heritage Days and the Old Hollowell Day parades; speaking to the York County Democrats in Alfred, to Cumberland County Democrats at the Tri-Town BBQ in South Portland and the Democratic picnic in Cape Elizabeth, and to Knox and Lincoln County Democrats at their recent lobster bakes.
I'm continuing to meet new allies and supporters at public events like the Brunswick Peace Fair and the dedication of the Portland Freedom Trail as well as at the numerous house parties supporters have recently hosted.
Since our official announcement at the end of May, hundreds of supporters have joined our ranks as volunteers or contributors and thousands of voters across the district have visited our website to view our announcement video alone. If you haven't had a chance to view it yet, please do and please forward it on to friends and family.
This summer we were also blessed with a wonderful crew of young, dynamic interns working in our campaign office helping us with a variety of campaign-related tasks. Thank you to Jonathan, Ben, Zach, Molly and Kate - we're also looking for a crew of interns for the fall. If you or someone you know are interested in helping out, please let us know.
