I Poop on Your Justice!

As I typed this, C-span was airing the joint FBI and DOJ press conference on the indictment of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA).

What a parade! Count 'em! 15 crowing officials are crowded around the podium patting themselves on the backs for all their hard work on the two year investigation of one lone African-American Democrat, caught with $90,000 in his freezer.
And connections to  Nigeria.
Wow! Well that looks and sounds pretty scary doesn't it?
Requiring 15 Justice officials to huddle together in.. tri-UMPH?

Of course it's still ongoing and they can't discuss too many details, like the timing, but hey it's The Bush Show.

My district #1 here in Arizona houses the king of con Rick Renzi, R-AZ). Well he doesn't really live here, but what the hell laws are just for The Bush Show to cherry pick.

Tricky Rick made #13 on CREW's list of 'The 20 Most Corrupt Politicians' based on 'probable violations and money laundering" going all the way back to 2002.

His very first year in Congress.  His very first election.

But the FEC waited until early in 2004 to launch any investigation, and then the dirty FEC bastards waited until after the 2004 election to announce their findings of his violatingseveral laws including 'probable violations of money laundering'. Almost $400,000 worth of laundry.
And was given a slap on the hand.

He won the 2004 election easily using the same dirty tricks not yet punished for from 2002.   The vast majority of Renzi's money came from out of state corporate donors and "...one local guy (a Dr.) from Flagstaff".  According to our local Arizona Daily Star.
And he won the 2006 election.
Corporate donors donated even more after he made CREWS list.
Corruption is a Right-wing merit badge now.

He's continued to be the subject of one investigation after another going on 6 years now.
The FBI just raided his family's homes.   So based on the time it took in the Jefferson case and others like it, Renzi may be on the way out by the 2010 election.

Great.
