Basically, he's playing chicken with the Democrats, daring them to blink first. He can't make a meaningful case for Iraq so its undermining the troops, in effect making them pawns in his political game.

I'd like to see the Democrats publicly respond by calling on him to stop playing politics on Iraq. Call him the POLITICIAN IN CHIEF & call on him, with 150,000+ troops in harms way, to be more presidential.

I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm for Bill Richardson. I know he doesn't have the rockstar factor Obama has, and he doesn't have the immense political machine Clinton has, but he has the resume. He gets things done. and he takes the right positions.

I'm just worried that the right guy for the job is not gonna make it. We have to trust the voters but all too often voters seemed more concerned about celebrity status than substance.

Richardson may not have Celebrity...but he's definitely got the substance. While i'm still undecided on who i'm gonna support, i'm am seriously looking at BIll Richardson.

Classy little swipe at Obama.  Is this the new pro-Edwards theme?  A single quote showing some modicum of political realism, and now Barack is the new Lieberman?

I like Obama because he knows he's progressive enough that he doesn't have to pander to people on progressive websites...like this one.  I guess, though, he has a thing or two to learn from Edwards, since pandering to us is the only platform he's got.

After all the attacks you make against Clinton, its nice to see you guys attacking Obama. It's amusing to see the whining Obama supporters go batshit crazy. Suudenly everyone from Sirota to Kos is a wacko. Things change pretty fast.  Thanks!!!

Remember when some thought Bush was credible:

As a matter of fact, I talked to Senator Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat. And he said of Bush -- and this is a direct quote, Wolf -- he said "He could go down in history as a great president," this after just 13 days of Bush at the White House.

I saw that when watching. I couldn't believe my eyes. Very very creepy. And unreal. Is he checking up on junior? Is he that isolated? I'm trying to understand.......

Did anyone else notice that Bush was wired up whilst making his speech this mornig?

When he turned to leave the podium the outline of some sort of pack was clearly outlined on the back of his jacked.  He then walked through the doors back into the WH and buttoned his jacked as he walked.

I am an Obama supporter (for the record). I think it is a mistake to suppose that Obama thinks Bush is "credible" just because he acknowledges the power of the position Bush currently holds. I believe Obama is thinking strategically about the post-veto environment. I think Obama is trying to frame his own opposition to the war within his support for the troops, as Bush obviously tries to split the two messages apart to hurt the Dems. I am assuming that those who now criticize Obama prefer another candidate, but maybe I'm wrong. Hard to say, since they haven't addressed that question. One has to wonder, though.

Tommy Thompson on Chris Matthews: black magic marker to his eyebrows, ridiculous tupee with a Reaganesque swoop.  He suddenly seems a much less formidable opponent.  

You Edwards folks are just tired...  He bombed against Cheney  in the debate and now he is the great progressive.

The only Senator(s) that did more for Lamont than Obama were Kennedy and Dodd.  At least Obama sent out an e-mail endorsement.  

He should have done more but when even Russ fails to show up and help it was just better to help those you can like Cardin in Maryland.

If you Obama is fading in the polls keep dreaming.  He is best one in this race because he has a vision for America.  It's not about doing what is right not about polotics.  

I have been and will continue to be critical of Obama when necessary, but the continuous trashing of him on this site is starting to annoy me.  The "We created you, and we can destroy you!" attitude is juvenile & naive.

The Obama supporters have been a lot more civil to John Edwards, who also has baggage and credibility problems.  If you want to continue playing this game, then there will be people who have no problem cutting loose on Edwards.  Is that what you really want?  This site should serve a higher purpose.

Isn't it obvious...Cheney uses telepathy mindwaves to beams talking points into Bush's thick skull to his brain.

   Whiny Obama followers: Wahhhhhhhh.  Jesus!  Personal attacks on Matt Stoller and John Edwards won't help your candidate.  It's certainly pushed me into the Edwards camp.

That's pretty low, threatening the troops with longer stints or premature deployment.  In other words, "Give me the money, with no strings attached and no pre-election deadline, or I'll put as many soldiers in the line of fire as I can!"  

This isn't a game of chicken, this is a hostage situation.
