Bush Approval Rating Falls To 28% In Harris Online Poll

Obviously, usual caveats apply, both with online polls and Harris's different type of approval question (excellent / good / fair / poor instead of approval / disapprove). Still, this is Nixonian:

President Bush's approval rating slipped to new lows in the most recent Harris Interactive survey, but he's not alone: For the first time since the series began, all of the political figures and institutions included in the survey have negative performance ratings.

Of the 1,001 American adults polled online April 20-23, only 28% had a positive view of Mr. Bush's job performance, down from 32% in February and from a high of 88% in the aftermath of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The current rating is his weakest showing since his inauguration.

Nixonian? (none / 0)

Interesting use of the term here. Bush certainly is Nixonian. Even Robert Novack said that Bush is more isolated now than Nixon was at the height of Watergate. Bush's admission that he authorized the executive to ignore the FISA laws alone is an impeachable offense.

So we have a president who orders torture, perpetual imprisonment without trial or even identification, suspension of habeas corpus, a president who is criminally negligent as a great American city is destroyed, a president who ordered the illegitimate invasion of a sovereign country, from which neither of our countries will recover.

I guess what we need now is a opposition party that is willing to initiate impeachment hearings. And save all the strategy speeches, I have heard them all.
