Heading to Living Liberally Fundraising in NYC

I'm heading up to NYC today to go to the Drinking Liberally/Living Liberally fundraiser.  Honestly Washington DC is kind of driving me a bit nuts.

Purchase your tickets here.

That said, I present to you the original Republican idiot, Dan Quayle, getting smacked around.

Also, watch this and tell me Republicans haven't been grooming a generation of morons for office for twenty years.  It's eery.  This dude was Vice President.

Quayle was a stand-in for George Jr.; Poppy found someone handsome, callow, stupid, and stubborn.  I tell ya, that Bush family is Disneyland for Freudians.

I don't think I ever heard Quayle's comeback line. Poor guy :-)

And can I hoot and holler at the next presidential debate?

I used to love reading Quaylisms, and I never got tired of them.  It seemed perfect, a high-ranking (but not powerful) person, making these goofs regularly.

Bushisms used to be funny, but his stupidity is just so dangerous they really aren't funny anymore.  They're mentally painful.

You picked primo weather. Word on the street has it  at 70's for day.

Isn't it sort of bizarre how there's been a reverse globalization effect, and every American city has built this exaggerated bubble around itself?
     That's my theory anyway...

Quayle's "I am not a potted plant" ranks right up there with Nixon's "I am not a crook."
