Dick Cheney's Contempt for America

What's the Scooter Libby trial all about?  Jane has the answer.

1.  The administration lied us into war and tried to abuse its power to punish the whistleblower who told the American public the truth.

2.  Scooter is the firewall to Shooter.

3.  Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby and other members of the administration conspired to keep federal investigators from uncovering their crimes.

4.  The media was complicit in spreading administration propaganda rather than doing investigative journalism, and are now helping to set the table for a pardon.

5.  The journalistic standards that have been exposed in the case (witness Tim Russert, Judy Miller, Andrea Mitchell, Robert Novak and others) are reprehensible, and have undermined the public trust in the media.

6.  The degree to which this story about the lies that lead to war has been ignored by the media (relative to the feeding frenzy over a Clinton blowjob) left a huge opening that the blogs have filled.

The key here is Dick Cheney, who is unremorseful that he essentially defrauded the American public into a war of choice that let Al Qaeda get stronger.  In fact, Cheney today said that Speaker Pelosi's Iraq plan would 'validate Al Qaeda'.

Pelosi called to complain to Bush, who told her through minions that he agrees with Cheney.  It's time that Democrats take the gloves off as Carol Shea-Porter did.  Don't complain to Bush that Cheney is being mean.  Just say something like the following when Cheney says that Democrats will 'validate Al Qaeda'.

'He should know.  It's his war in Iraq that has helped Al Qaeda more than Osama Bin Laden ever dreamed possible.'

It's very possible that Scooter Libby will be found guilty.  It's important that Cheney feel pressure from Democrats on his irresponsible, immoral, and in all likelihood his criminal behavior.

Most evil VP ever (none / 0)

And that includes that piece of scum Agnew.

If Cheney was in charge of a third world country, I have no doubt in my  mind, and I say this after actually thinking about this, he would be a ruthless dictator. He wouldn't be a fundamentalist Saudi Arabian type of ruler, but more like a Saddam. He does have some grandiose visions of power and not just a thirst for money. He is limited in his damage by the checks and balances in this country and he still manaages to avoid some of those checks and balances.

Imagine if he and Kissinger ruled this country together. The Amorality and immorality would be too much to bear.

I have never had total hate for a politician as I have for Cheney.

Re: Dick Cheney's Contempt for America (none / 0)

i wanted to post this over at firedoglake, but ran out of patience (sp?). what needs to happen now is that the legislature should pay attention to the testimony, secure fitz as a special prosecutor, since he's already familiar, and go after cheney and bush, the real criminals, traitors, or whatever you wish to call them.

bush is a done deal, if the members of congress wish to attack him, having admitted to a criminal act. cheney is now in the sights, following the testimony. all i can say is, "go get 'em."

Bush/Cheney & the Republican Party -- (none / 0)

Have lost the war on terror --

They should all be damned to hell for all eternity --

Meanwhile -- Democrats, and everyone who cares about this country, work to undo the damage these traitors have inflicted upon our country and planet.

THAT -- and whatever variation you prefer -- should be the Democratic netroots mantra from now on . . .

Bush, Cheney, the Republican Party -- Have LOST the War on Terror . . .

Re: Dick Cheney's Contempt for America (none / 0)

For the life of me I do not understand why anyone would ask (or demand) an apology from anyone or complain to their "opponent" that someone was being unfair.

When you are asking and/or complaining you are acknowledging their authority over you.

Pelosi should have said:

"Validating Al Qaeda? The Bush Administration's ally has set up a headquarters for them in Pakistan and Cheney and Bush have set up a recruiting/training station for AlQaeda in Iraq."

Scooter will never see the inside of a jail.  He will be pardoned before he even packs to go.  He probably already has half of the missing 9 billion in a swiss bank account somewhere as a reward.  None of these people will be held accountable.  Justice is only for suckers.  This is what has been demonstrated and proven to the American people.  It is the haves and the have mores vs. the have less and have nothings, and we are losing.  Rules are for us, not them.  Our money is their money; their money is their money.  We are the suckers acting out our roles in the illusory democracy they have stolen and built!

Basically, Libby and Cheney were the fall guys for Bush and Karl Rove.

Re: Dick Cheney's Contempt for America (none / 0)

I think you are right, and I think it is important to keep focus in these dealings.

Rove is the media go-to man in the white house. He would be the senior white house advisor principally responsible for the current, politics over policy - and I might add - the billion dollar ad campaigns that have been launched from the white house.

This administration, for example, launched a multimillion dollar ad campaign to ask the american public to support president bush's policy of "pre emptive self defense".

Rove is a simpering version of Goerring, a kind of fat, and soft looking nazi. Oh wait. Sorry, his grandfather was the nazi.  Rove-Bayerschen - the gauleiter of mecklenburg.

IF (none / 0)

It is proven that Dick Cheney outed Valerie Plame, that is treason.  The penalty for treason is death.  If it is proven, Cheney should get the death penalty.

If George Bush is found to be involved in the outing, he also should get the death penalty.

We get it, highly paid jobs at stake (none / 0)

just imagine what Tim's salary would be if he couldn't snag high level reps on a regular basis.

Access, access, yeah we get it, that's all you fuckers think about.  Now that Bush is at 28% in the polls it's ok to be a little "critical" but when he was at 80%, God forbid you question the rational for war in Iraq, OR RUN FOOTAGE OF THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO PROTESTED THIS DIASTEROUS WAR IN IRAQ.  God forbid you would lose your precious access.  Yeah, we fucking get it.  Karl Rove got on the phone and threatened to pull the plug on all interviews with Bush and any WH officials if you went "too far out on a limb" on certain stories.  It's not my fault, it's not my fault, it's not my fault.  No, Bob Woodward, it's not even your fault when on LARRY KING LIVE just before the war you said (paraphrased from memory) I don't think he(Bush) would be going into Iraq unless he HAD THE GOODS ON SADDAM.  FUCK YOU BOB WOODWARD, OH AND I READ PARTS OF YOUR SERIES, THEY DON'T ABSOLVE YOU, FUCK YOU!!

To the majority of the Press, YOUR ARE JUST AS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE 3400 AMERICAN DEATHS, 25,0000+ WOUNDED, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF CIVILIAN DEATHS because you willfully looked the other way.  You didn't challenge Bush's bullshit state of the Union speech in 2003, you didn't challenge Bush when MONTHS went by after there was no WMD found AND YOU SPENT MORE TIME RIPPING GRAY DAVIS APART IN CALIFORNIA THAN INVESTIGATING THE GROWING CLUSTERFUCK IN IRAQ.  THE EVIDENCE IS GROWING THAT THE CALIFORNIA RECALL WAS JUST ONE BIG MOTHER FUCKIN DISTRACTION TO SHOVE ASIDE THE GROWING NIGER FORGERY AND PLAME SCANDAL THAT WAS EXPLODING WHILE BUSH WAS IN AFRICA IN JUNE/JULY 2003.

God Bless Jane Hampsher an angel in an ocean of demons.

Re: We get it, highly paid jobs at stake (none / 0)

is bush really at 28% job approval rating. wow. thats incredibly high. to imagine that 28% of americans think he is doing a good job - that is just staggering. Think, if you were walking down the street and there was one out of every three people that couldn't figure out pres. bush is a lame duck - no thanks to people like rove.

I think its important that we as a country support our president and our troops + when we are in trouble get out of it instead of launch obscenities at ea. other.

Bush did ok in Texas and if the fire that Fitzgerald started burned out the weeds choking our president, we might actually have a year of clarity before we have to submit to another darn dog and pony show again where everyone claims to have all of the answers and only pelosi does anything abou tit.

Re: Dick Cheney's Contempt for America (none / 0)

comment on latest Cheney assertions:

Prime Minister Tony Blair announced that about one quarter of the British forces in Iraq were now being withdrawn, with more withdrawals later this year. While in Japan, Vice President Dick Chaney maintained that these reductions showed what success we are achieving in Iraq.

On Wednesday, Mr Cheney harshly criticized Democrats' attempts to thwart President Bush's troop buildup in Iraq, saying their approach would "validate the al-Qaida strategy."

Vice President Chaney now travels to Australia, where he will shoot a kangaroo.
