It's Time Lower Tier Candidates Step Aside -- From Debates

With less than three months and three debates away before the first Democratic primary, it's time to tell Mike Gravel, Rep. Dennis Kucinich and either Chris Dodd or Joe Biden, whoever is third from the bottom in most polls, they can no longer attend the upcoming debates.  Actually, it's time `they' made that decision for voters.

While we appreciate all the candidates and their supporters for giving us a broad view of what's available, it's time the ones that are pretty much guaranteed a loss, to sit down.

How many candidates being in 6th place or beyond have ever won the Presidency nomination, none that I know of?

It's time voters got to ask `real' questions and receive full and complete answers.  No more 30 second headliners.

This upcoming election may be the most important Election Day America's ever had since the Vietnam war.  It's time to get `Very Serious'.

in all fairness, i dont think the lower tier candidates should step down at all, with the exception of Mike Gravel.

I couldn't agree more on Gravel throwing in the towel. With little funding and less than 1% support in the polls, no one will take him seriously. His only role in the debates is to either finger-wag at Clinton or ask Obama who he's going to nuke.

If Chris Dodd leaves the debate who will argue for a return to a Constitutional system of law? Who will argue for cutting off war funding?

If it's good enough for Joey it's good enough for Hillary! Like two peas in a pod.

Perhaps with less people to ask questions of and listen to, the moderator can ask BETTER questions and the upper tier candidates can actually answer a question with more than a 30 second news breaker like, "I'm your girl".

It's time to hear what they will actually do - not just the headline.

i didn't stand up when they took my neighbors... (none / 0)

so when they came for me, there was no one to stand up for me.

or something like that...

I agree (none / 0)

But my criteria for determining the lower tier is slightly different.

Candidates at the lower tiers of CREDIBILITY should step aside.  Candidates trying to convince America that we ought to continue the Iraq occupation until 2013, should now step aside for those who want to bring an end to this debacle and get our troops home and out of harms way.
