Davis to NOT run for Senate

Bottom line, Rep. Davis will NOT run and will announce later this week. This seat in VA is now a SOLID Democratic pick-up next year.

Mixed blessing, because we would have had a great chance to win his House seat.

What a huge bummer for Davis who saw his approvals skyrocket when he enginered a unprecidented republican pickup in a midterm election in 2002 in the House. He has to be woundering.  Davis is a moderate but maybe VA isn't looking for that moderate GOP voice at this time and willing to look at more centrist Dems to lead the state.
