Final Version of Joe's Donors

Pravin just emailed me the merged version, which is here.  Seriously, this is awesome work.  In about five hours, we collectively downloaded and sorted 14 separate FEC filings from Joe Lieberman and put them out for analysis.  The total amount of high dollar money coming in for Joe over the last 15 days is slightly over $1.2 million.

Thanks Pravin, Dan, Ryan, and everyone else who put this together.

Now we can play with it.

PRAVIN'S FINAL UPDATE: Sorry, I missed the 7-27 stuff. The final amount is $1,343,350. The file is updated.

I have added even a state by state breakdown worksheet. CT donations amount to a little less than 155K. NY donations are the largest totalling a little more than 350K. Outside the Northeast, you got California at 132K and FL at 92K as the major contributors.

sorry rename the file (none / 0)

I was uploading the same time you were probably doing the uploading.
I uploaded and renamed my file to replace the old file. So change the referenced file name to MergedVersion.xls

Thanks, and a question (none / 0)

I'm gonna look through this for fun stuff.

Quick question, were the dates used, the day the check was in the office, or the day it was reported?

Report Dates. If you have the time, feel free to fill in the states and send me a copy. If my admin privs are still there tonight, I will update it or I will forward it to Matt.

Re: Final Version of Joe's Donors (3.00 / 1)

I said it earlier, but GATDAM i love this place.  This little endeavor illustrates perfectly what the value of this place is, and I'm exceptionally optimistic right now about...well...life.

Corrections-some verry interesting (none / 0)

1. The law firm is not Rassovitz, Benson but Kassovitz

2.It is not Steve Rather of Quadrangle Partners but indeed the Steve Rattner of Quadrangle Partners.  He and Maureen have different giving patterns often--according to Sunlight she gave to Lamont.

3. Dentist is Alain Roizen not Boizen (used to be my dentist--bad dentist)

4. It is Samuel Klagsbrun, a psychiatrist very involved in Jewish issues

5. Could someone look closer at the $5000 given by Ira Kristol and check to see if it might be Irving Kristol, father of William Kristol of the Weekly Standard and also the father of neo-conservatism?

6. Dennis Deconcini retired I assume is the former Senator

7,There are lots of possible misreadings of the names.  Teitelbaum instead of Tertelbaum, probably Lilienfeld, not Lilenfeld.

Re: Final Version of Joe's Donors (none / 0)

The missing July 26th data was mine. Not sure why it wasn't added to the merge. I just resent it to Matt - anyone else want it? It's $127,000 worth.

Re: Final Version of Joe's Donors (none / 0)

Looks like I classified 7-26 as 7-27nby mistake and left out the 7-27. THe latest version should have that.

Also I added states to the 8-3 data since I could not sleep. Heh.

Re: Final Version of Joe's Donors (none / 0)

Well these $'s arrive too late for this election but can they be rolled forward for an Independent run?  My guess is yes but who knows.

So, if Joemo looses and runs as an independent they can give again because with the general election donations start all over again.

Whatever happens today a message has been sent to the Dem power structure - we will see if they pay attention or not.

Re: Final Version of Joe's Donors (none / 0)

so uh.....i'm a little confused how the $4,000 coming from a few students was pulled off. I know most of my fellow undergrads wouldn't send their money to a campaign, they'd go buy a flatscreen
atleast thats the reading i've got, but then again I don't have 4k lying around in a safe somewhere

Re: Final Version of Joe's Donors (none / 0)

Seems pretty clear from the names that the Jewish community, which largely is anti-war, went all out for Joey. How embarrassing.

changes and questions (none / 0)

Hi All,

I'm a little late to the party but I thought I'd pass along an updated version of the spreadsheet to Pravin.  I was able to clear up some confusion in the 7.24.06 and 7.31.06 data. I highlighted where I'd made name or occupation changes (unless the occupation change was very slight) as well as tried to unify the naming/organization of the list.

The news of note is that there were 4 pages in the second set of 7.31.06 data that were not included in the spreadsheet -- presumably because there were blank entries in the original. These data have been added. That would raise the amount by $50,300, but due to another typo in the 7.31.06 data (a $4,200 was put down for a $2,000), the updated total is actually $1,391,450.

For some reason my state-by-state undercounts CT contributions by $4,000 (bug in the SUMIF function?), but otherwise appears to be correct.

I've included corrections only for those entries which I was able to find confirmation in public records or online -- for instance, there's no William Mayal listed on the Park Ave. Equity webpage, but there is a William Mayer, who's the founder.

Also, there might be a mistake in the handwritten original 7.24.06 data: the contributions by Maurice Katz and Stanley Katz appear twice, for the same amounts, on the same day.  I assume the contributions made a week later are legitimate since the amounts are different, but those?

----

As an aside, I was surprised by how many people gave multiple times in this short timeframe. By my count, 34 people gave twice, and 6 gave three times.  I have no experience with this sort of thing; is that normal?

Re: changes and questions (none / 0)

vyncent, you may have inadvertently double counted some of that data.

Pravin and I reviewed one case in point last night where the folks at the Lieberman campaign duplicated pages in the report.
