Netroots Fundraiser Update

Numbers updated as of 9:10 p.m.

Our big pre-Labor Day fundraiser is going extremely well. As of 9:10 pm, we have raised a total of $55,951.84 for the candidates on our list since 12:01 a.m. on Monday. With the 50K barrier smashed, we are now very close to $500,000 raised for the entire page. In less than three days, this one Act Blue page has out-raised Rightroots for this entire cycle (they currently stand at $43,899).

All of the House candidates on the list have also met our goals for 100 new donors each. Most have now passed, or are close to, 150 new donors. On the Senate side, Jim Webb has passed our goal of 250 new donors, and Tester and Lamont currently stand at 211 and 176 new donors respectively. Here is the breakdown, by candidate, of new donors and total amount raised since 12:01 a.m. on Monday (as of 9:10 p.m. eastern): Overall, the average contribution to a candidate on the netroots page has been $26.65. The average contributor has given $79.90 to netroots candidates.

As fantastic as this has been, let's keep it going. Let's hit $500K for the whole page. Let's hit 150 new donors to all of the House candidates, and 250 new donors to all of the Senate candidates. Also, remember that today is the final day in the fundraising reporting period for Massa, Hodes and Bruner. Whatever you can give, even if it is just $5, makes a big difference.

Also, Ben Rahm, co-founder of Act Blue, gave a tutorial on online fundraising at today over at Howie Klein's Blue America. Check it out.

Terrific news.  Shows the commitment of our community, and our seriousness in getting the job done.  Great work.
I've given in the Texas governor's race, and am working in same (ok I'm a masochist, but somehow we've got to get the ChristoFascists out of power down here).
But remember, the fascist Republicans haven't pulled out their big guns--the fascist multi-national corporate contributors.  We're going to have to stay alert, stay at work, and have lots of boots on the ground in November to counter the evil underlords of the universe.  Stay focused.
Abigail, I'm sure if there is something out there looking down on us from somewhere else in the Universe, they're wise enough to stay away from us. --Grissom

When will the new candidates be added to the Netroots endorsed page?  Next week, or during this fundraising push week?

ActBlue Fundraising training on the 31st (none / 0)

Also, just to reiterate Ben's invitation over at FireDogLake,

On Thursday, August 31, 7:30pm Eastern Time, we'll be doing an "essentials of fundraising" conference call -- if you've never asked anyone for money (or if you think your skills could use a brush-up) this will help you dive in.

Please e-mail rsvp5@actblue.com for call-in information.

We at ActBlue would love to have all of you at MyDD join us!
