Just Arrived in CT...

I'll be here until August 8, since Connecticut is nice this time of year.  Jane covered one of the first of Joe Lieberman's bus tour events.  Apparently Lieberman's staffers have been distributing buttons that say 'The Hug' on them showing Bill Clinton with his arms around Joe Lieberman.  Weird.

Lieberman's got a fierce ground game, renting practically every van in the state.  If you're a Democratic in Connecticut, it's likely you'll be hearing many times from the Lieberman campaign.

The Friend and Family program is pretty cool.  I've seen stacks and stakcs of postcards printing out that are going to voters all over the state.

Remind your friends in Connecticut, if you haven't already.

Update: I forgot to mention that Lamont is going to be on Colbert on Monday.

The Hug (none / 0)

Even weirder with Ann Coulter's strange comments inferring that Bill Clinton is gay. The last thing poor Joe needs is Ann wearing the hug pin. Just can't catch a break.

Re: Just Arrived in CT... (none / 0)

You know, when the last word is written on this campaign, and if Lieberman loses, it will be things like this that will change the way we look at this race.  Instead of a loss because of bad message or being in support of Iraq, or the blogs, we can now point to one indisputable fact: Lieberman has run an AWFUL campaign.  Everyone who has ever worked in a campaign (and I mean work, not volunteer) knows that every single thing that comes out of your office is either union-made, or has the words "Labor-Donated" posted clearly on it.  To not do that is a fuck-up of huge proportions.

Ground game (none / 0)

I'm hearing that Joe's got some serious ground game for canvassing etc.

Matt, what's your feel on Lamont's ground game?

Re: Ground game (none / 0)

It's good, mostly volunteer-driven.

Rather than counteracting The Kiss, The Hug just reminded me of it.

It's hilarious that's JoMo's survival has boiled down to whether voters believe in The Hug or The Kiss.

With Democrats Lieberman goes for the jugular. With Republicans he goes for the lips.
