President 2008: Leadership PACs Currying Favor

From Poliitcs1:
The Hotline reports the likely 2008 Democratic Presidential candidates are contributing large sums of money to Dems in key states in an effort to court early support. Senator John Kerry's PAC leads all other hopefuls, having collected nearly $14 million for candidates and state party organizations. Senator Hillary Clinton's PAC races $7.5 million; former Senator John Edwards' PAC is at $6.5 million; and former Governor Mark Warner's PAC is at "about $5 million." Warner's PAC is paying for a staffer in the Iowa Dem Party and another working on the staff of the New Hampshire Dem Party. Senator Evan Bayh's PAC us also funding a staffer with the NH Dems. All of the other PACs lag behind.
Paying for staffers in Iowa and New Hampshire? That's smart. Not only dos it curry favor, it helps alter the culture of the state parties in your favor. Warner really is making some smart moves.

Speaking of smart moves, help Warner's Forward Together make some more smart moves by voting for Patrick Murphy in the Map Changers contest. And BTW, great job everyone on meeting our fundraising goals for Patrick Murphy yesterday!

Speaking of fundraising and currying favor, any and all Leadership PACs are welcome to donate to BlogPac. Email me at chris@mydd.com for details. You won't actually get any beneficial posts or positive coverage from doing this. Also, I have known my favorite potential candidate for well over a year, and that ain't changing. However, your money will be used to defend the netroots and increase our political efficacy. If you think helping the netroots will help your future campaign, your money will be well spent.
