McCain is a waffler. He only goes with the politics at the time of the election.  When it was popular for him to run as an independent conservative voice in 2000, when Bill Clinton was in office, he ran as such, by supporting Campaign Finance Reform, which didn't reform the system, and opposing the Bush tax cuts.  Now that a conservative is in the White House and it is popular to support conservative principles, he goes back to his traditional conservative roots by supported tax cuts and supporting Jerry Falwell and the Iraq War.  Hillary is not much different, she was for tax cuts in 1997 and then opposed them in 2001 and 2003.  Clintons signed sweeping tax cut relief in 1997.  When you are a traditionalist in your party, you may speak out against sometime, but you will go back to your roots.

Stick a fork in this asshole...he is done. Lying ReThug punk. He is never going to be President...unless you count being Grand Wizard of his local Klavern.

Keep all the Anti-McCain stuff coming, we're going to need it if he gets the nomination.  We need to really crush this image of him as a moderate, and this helps.

And I can't have the Falwell comment up there without a response.....that's just sick.  You don't play politics on something so horrific as 9/11.  This guy considers himself religious?  McCain should be running away from this guy.

I don't think its helpful to keep rehashing that Falwell quote.  While it is very telling, Falwell has already apologized for it, and its generally run its course.  

What McCain bashers should focus their attention on from that interview were his Mark McGwire-like "I'm not here to talk about the past" responses when Russert questioned him on his formerly critical views of George W., when contrasted with their current closeness.  
Don't let him dodge this line of questions.  He hates having to answers this, you can literally see it in McCain's eyes when he rattles off the canned "I'm looking to the future" BS.  

McCain also said on MTP that he supports an AZ initiative limiting marriage to a male and female (with the parenthetical comment that a US Constitutional amendment was not needed - 'leave it to the states'), but if the AZ initiative failed then he'd reconsider the need for a federal Constitutional amendment limiting marriage to a man and woman.

He's against a federal amendment because it is not needed, but if it is needed, he will be for it.  Got that?
