Red American Ben Domenech Is A Plagiarist

Does The Washington Post realize they've hired a plagiarist? Daily Kos diarist Oregon guy does, and he wrote about it this afternoon. It's a stunningly obvious example of blatant plagiarism, with Ben appropriating large chunks of the P.J. O'Rourke essay "Real Parties" for his own November 1999 op-ed piece, "Party guidelines for real bashes."

For example, Ben writes...

A real party differs from other social events in two major ways: firstly, as much as anyone can remember, it was more fun. Secondly, no one can remember very much.

Real parties are given for pleasure only, never to mark an occasion. There can no more be a reason for a real party than there can be an excuse for what goes on after it starts.

And what did P.J. write, way back when?

A real party differs from other social events in two ways:
  1. As much as anyone can remember, it was more fun.
  2. No one can remember very much.

Real parties are given for pleasure only and never to mark an occasion. There can no more be a reason for a real party than there can be an excuse for what goes on after it starts.

Nice hire, Washington Post. Nice hire.

Again, this is an example of people everywhere - especially Democrats and the MSM - going after people that would never vote for them or read them.  Sickening.  How many ultra-cons read the WaPo?

rolling eyes at the pathetic Post

McCain is defining Obama, and Obama is neither defining himself, nor McCain. This is awful.

Re: Home-schooler Ben Is A Thief (none / 0)

His parents home-schooled him because he couldn't get properly schooled in morality.  Then they dump him on a real school (Willima and Mary) where he plaigiarizes away, stealing from an erstwhile hero of his.  Real moral, Moron.

This isn't a one-time thing, according to a commenter at DailyKos. The user points out another instance of him stealing his writing from others.

He's a plagiarist and a fraud, too.  Spinsanity caught him making up quotes in 2002.

I can see why the Washington Post wanted him.  I mean, Stephen Glass did so much for The New Republic.

He's the Post's own Bernard Kerik. (none / 0)

they must have checked up on him as much as Bush did with Bernie Kerik.

I'll miss the little wanker, but I'm sure the Post'll give us something even better to attack.
