Two Good Ads Out of NY State

This is Eliot Spitzer's spot.  I think it's registered Creative Commons, though I'm not sure if that logo up front is actually a creative commons logo.  Someone help me out here.

This is Tom Suozzi's spot.

Both are posted on Youtube, and I found them through the essential NY blog The Politicker.  Suozzi's talented, attractive, and energetic.  And he's in New York, which means he may never rise higher than he is right now.

But comparing ads is fun.

Suozzo is also financed by GOP and corporate enemies of Spitzer, backed by Schuker who sees Spitzer as a threat to his turf, for reasons beyond imagining.

As someone out of state (Illinois), I definitely found Spitzer's ad a lot more effective.  When was the last time you saw a campaign ad that spoke to the poor and working class instead of the "moderate" suburban voters?

Poor Souzzi. He could have bright future, if not for this foolhardy charge into Spitzer's guns.

Forget about Suozzi running for Congress.  Suozzi's ego is too big for that.  He was encouraged to run for AG and felt the job was beneath him.  I'll bet big money he regrets that decision in 6 months.

Suozzi's ad was fine until the ending.

"A different kind of Democrat"

Um. Ok Tom. Just because you're funded by Republicans doesn't mean you have to brag about it.

Re: Two Good Ads Out of NY State (none / 0)

Why the kind words for Suozzi?  He is running as a conservative Dem which is necessary in some states but not in NY.  He is hardly the progressive we are all seeking.  Suozzi is being financed by GOP and Wall Street heavy weights who are mad Spitzer had the nerve to go after them and make them play by the rules.  Suozzi has such a big ego he saw the AGs race, which he could have won, as a step down even though he has never won anything outside of Nassau County.  He could have easily used AG as a stepping stone for either Gov or Senate in 6-8 years.

Suozzi's backers alone are enough reason to oppose the guy not to mention his conservative stands on a bunch of issues.  The guy clearly has lots of ambition but no soul.

I'm not giving him kind words.  He is talented, attractive, and energetic.
