What happened to Karl Rove? I think I know.

Absolutely nothing. Not a damn thing.

I think Karl Rove has always been a a half-assed hack and all the credit that has been heaped upon him has been due to Democratic policy and strategic failures, not the wit and wisdom of Karl Rove.

Really, if you look at the track record of the Democrats over the past six years, how hard has it been to overcome that? How hard is it to squish overcooked Ramen Noodles into the ground? If your opponent is spineless, they ain't hard to beat.

John Kerry and the Iowa Caucus is a perfect example. Howard Dean went in with huge numbers - HUGE NATIONAL NUMBERS that should have paved the way to the White House, but Iowa gave us John Kerry, Iowa played the role of pragmatist. They didn't want spine, they wanted the same-old same-old.

Kerry let the Swiftboaters shit all over him for weeks and did nothing. The Congressional Democrats allowed Bush and his Republican cronies to shit all over them, the Constitution and We The People and they did nothing.

How did the Dems manage to crawl out from under that mess? I guarantee it was not the guiding hand of John Kerry. It was, however, Al Gore's voice, Murtha's backbone and Howard Dean's 50 State Strategy.

So now what is Rove fighting? Leadership. That is a hard thing for him to fight against. With Bush in Office, the Democrats are the only leaders America has and they are no longer bending over for Rove.
