[Matt here] Update: I went to the event last night in DC. Stern's a smart guy. My favorite wonky point that he makes is that more higher education, while a good thing, is an individual and not a structural improvement in the economy. If you provide more college educations, that doesn't do anything for the 50 million jobs in transportation, cleaning, etc. Lots of politicians like to say that college education is the key to opportunity. That's only true for individuals; for most of the economy, higher wages and better infrastructure is the key to opportunity.
