Hello everybody,
I'm Joel Wright and I'm your pollster/researcher. I want to personally thank Chris and MyDD, Scott, Matt, et al, for bringing me on board. This project is a big step for the site and I am honored to be a part of it.
But most of all, I am so proud to be working for you, the MyDD Community. My promise to you is: we will do this right and the data and findings will be spot on accurate. That means solid scientific method, measurement and unbiased analysis. That is what I do.
Like the original Sun Tzu, I believe victory is most likely when the battlefield is clearly, and dispassionately, understood by those with the will to win. Only then can we build and execute successful strategy and tactics. Only then can we win.
This has always been my experience in the 20+ years I've been polling and researching on public policy and political issues and political campaigns. As Chris noted, my client base is mostly 'blue': native tribes in the US and Canada, unions (AFL-CIO, SEIU, fire fighters, teachers), Democratic candidates, local blue consultants and campaigns. In addition, throw in a few universities, think tanks and museums. I have also worked for a few 'pinks' in the past, which, given the above, leads you to the key motive for my work: do the right thing.
In my view, this project is the right thing for all of us to do. Particularly because the existing political and campaign structures have totally failed us, lost their credibility, and deserve our hopes and dreams, and our support, no more. We must do it ourselves. And so we will, thanks to Chris and MyDD.
Thus, today is the day we up-armor, my friends. And today, we lock and load. Hoo-yah!
Update (Chris): I just chipped in $250 to this project. We need $16K. You can donate here.
