Oregon's Teri Mills, whose name many of you may recognize from the Howard Dean presidential campaign has recently garnered a great deal of attention for a great idea.
Mills has proposed the creation of the office of National Nurse. In a widely-circulated op-ed that appeared in the New York Times and reprinted in the Oregonian. Mills suggests that the office would dramatically improve America's health care system by re-focusing efforts on prevention. As Teri has stated repeatedly: "What we need is a system focused on health care. What we have is a system focused on sick care."
