FOX News is already editing Wesley Clark

I said the minute I heard that Wesley Clark signed a deal with FOX News that it was going to be bad news because no matter what Clark said, Roger Ailes would edit what Clark said to serve Roger Ailes interests.

It's already happened...

It says that on all their trancripts.

We all know FOX edits the truth out (none / 0)

Of course we know FOX edits any transcripts it wants to edit to serve the needs of the neo-cons. That was the point i was trying to make to Clark supporters.

It's not going to matter much what Clark says live. They are going to edit anything Clark says to suit their purposes.

I admire Clark (none / 0)

for staying so calm when confronted with such bullshit and hatred.

How can americans stand to watch any show like this?

Watching it live.. (none / 0)

more people saw Wes live than will ever read the transcripts that FOX edited.  If you watched, you would know that the General dissarmed Hannity with grace.  He refused to be dragged into a playground fight.  I was nervous when he signed the deal, but now think it may have been a shrewd redstate winning move.

Clark/Feingold 08!

Then you are a biased 'true believer' (none / 0)

Roger Ailes is going to be the guy that gets to be the final editor of what an important Democrat says. Roger Ailes IS going to be editing Clark'ss words into whatever message he personally wants to get out. That's a problem to any Democrat that isn't blinded by personal loyalty to Clark and Clark's candidacy.

Also, I really think you just went way too far in attacking my personal motives trying to dismiss this very real problem as "a playground fight." I WAS leaning towards supporting Wes Clark. I have nothing but reasons to root for Clark. I'm pretty  progressive, but I'm a hawk on military issues. I believe in sending in troops to stop real aggression, end genocides, etc. I'm for equiping the troops well. In fact, regarding military issues there are only a couple of issues I haven't  been pro-military recently. Iraq and Star Wars.... because neither makes any damn sense.

However, this decision by Clark is a massive screw-up that the potential to be a one-shot career-ender. Roger Ailes has his finger on the edit button and can create a Clark version of a Dean Scream at any moment of his choosing. And he will do just that. I've seen this happen twice. The "Dean Scream" was caused by one improperly set microphone. The other time was in the Presidential campaign Perot ran to Admiral James Stockdale in the VP debate. Stockdale's hearing was damaged while he was in captivity, and required wearing a hearing aide. Stockdale was told by the network sound people he had to remove his normal hearing aide and wear a standard TV ear piece to hear the cues during the debate from the TV production crew. The crew was informed about Stockdales hearing problems but never did a seperate session to set the sound levels in Stockdale's ear piece for a man with damaged hearing.  Well, they screwed with Stockdale's sound levels all night long during the deabte, and made Stockdale look like a doddering old fool.

Don't tell me that a hostile TV production team can't screw someone at the time and place of their choosing. You know better.
