Wisconsin Dems call for IMPEACHMENT OF BUSH, CHENEY, & RUMSFELD

The Wisconsin Democratic Party adopted this resolution at their annual convention yesterday, June 11, 2005:

Resolved to Impeach -

WHEREAS, the Downing Street Memo shows that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld began planning and executing the war on Iraq before seeking Congressional and UN approval;

WHEREAS, UN weapons inspectors showed prior to the invasion that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, there is further mounting evidence that the Administration lied or misled about "mushroom clouds," "connections to 9/11," and "war as a last resort" as they sought UN, Congressional, and public approvals;

THEREFORE, RESOLVED, the DPW asks Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Defense Secretary Rumsfeld.

Can you explain Sensenbrenner for me? We have dark red enclaves here in California where the GOPer has a lock on their seat for life. Is that the case with Sensenbrenner? Is there any chance of getting rid of him?

Stirling Newberry has a very cool impeachment diary at dkos, For the time is at hand.

It's also posted at Blogging of the President which also a hangout for Bonddad. Very cool site.

I can explain Sensenbrenner (2.00 / 1)

He's a complete moron. Another thing. Whereas we knew 2 full years ago that Bush, Cheney and Dumsfeld were lying to us, impeachment hearings would have started then, and whereas the Republicans control things in DC, impeachment will never happen.

True, but... (none / 0)

I like that I'm hearing the "I" word more. This will get media attention in WI at least. We've got to start somewhere. It took two years for Watergate. It may never happen, but I like to hear the word "Impeachment" in the media. Keeps 'em on the defensive.
Witty comment goes here...

I think that lying by politicians (none / 0)

is legal unless its done under oath....

The real culprit is the way lobbyists have taken over Washington..

The current administration seems almost unbeliveably corrupt...

I read the other day that 97% of national elections for legislators are won by the person who spends the most..

Campaign finance.. and the corporate influence over it, is what is stealing and looting America's future..

These people are merely figureheads..

What i am saying is that in order to rescue democracy back from the corporate Borg we need to actually solve the campaign finance problem.. not the symptoms of it...(the damn - yes, seemingly amoral - 'politicians')

Then they will slink back under their rocks...

Re: I can explain Sensenbrenner (none / 0)

Seen any polls lately? The 2006 elections should be a campaign to overturn Repug control of the House for the express purpose of impeaching Bushco, Inc.

Grab a gun or get out of the fight.

Has anyone ever thought that GOP and DEM (3.00 / 1)

Aren't anywhere near as different as they need to be..to deal with the very real problems we face.. They are both in denial, its just that the GOP is in much more denial than the Dems..

But they both are presiding over the looting of America...

Thats our future they are stealing.. or selling, or whatever..

Better speak up or it will be gone..

Write it down (1.00 / 0)

Boatwright asks a question liebermanlives has already answered in the negative hours ago and then suddenly decides to rate liebermanlives a 3 immediately after I rate him a 2. I can answer liebermanlives for my lame rating but I can't figure Boatwright except that Gary may be all torn up about promoting himself.

This is a good diary subject and it's my hope that Democrats support this initiative. Recommended and thanks Pat.

Re: Write it down (none / 0)

I didn't think LL's explanation was sufficient, but I also didn't think it deserved a "1". I am also giving you a "1" for your personal attack. Get over youself pal.

response (none / 0)

It might be a lame answer, but it's the correct answer. Tell me how Bush is going to be impeached without at least some Republicans on our side??

Re: response (3.00 / 1)

It doesn't matter if Bush is actually impeached. The only thing that matters is that the effort is made.

I hope I didn't offend you by giving you a "3". I don't know why it T'd off Seldom Seen Smith, but  anyone who criticizes a Republican deserves a "3".

That's my opinion on ratings and I'm sticking to it.

Sorry for the delay in my response (none / 0)

but I'm not a pro blogger.

That's the Gary Boatwright I've come to love reading here at MyDD. Have a 3 for the correct answer.
