Blog Infrastructure

Since the election, our side of the blogosphere has excelled at nationalizing issues. We will continue to refine nationalization, but now we need localize.

On the eve of the Nuclear Option, BlogPAC is rushing into deployment our regional infrastructure.

This is a general call for Democratic bloggers to sign up and unite to wage politics online.

As many of you know, over the last 10 months, BlogPAC has begun to organize nationally. Free conference calls, IM, Skype, and email have allowed us message consistency, organized timing, and focus. These tools have institutionalized a support system.

To be prepared for the filibuster battle and to begin our 18 month march through the election, we need to organize state-by-state, district-by-district...ASAP.

If you have a blog, go sign up. Email local bloggers you know and ask them to sign up:

www.BlogPAC.org

Reach out to other bloggers in your area, set up a free conference call, take advantage of email. Follow real-time politics in your state, pile on and help escalate. Work locally as a team.

The filibuster battle is coming, help us rush this into deployment. We need all hands on deck when they go nuclear and we need to be organized geographically.

From www.BlogPAC.org:

Writing a blog post is not enough. Reading a blog post is not enough. Commenting on a blog is not enough. The next step requires doing something.

BlogPac.org is that next step -- a group of bloggers not content to simply write words or read them, but eager to take action on the pressing issues of our day.

BlogPac is waging politics online.

Nuclear Option (none / 0)

The entire Nuclear Option debate could go down faster than a beer at a keg party. That is why we need instant local organizing - especially in states with Republican Senators.

Uniting through www.BlogPAC.org will also pay long term dividends:

  • It will allow elected officials and staff to easily identify the relevant local bloggers
  • It will help enable the local press to keep up with local politics online
  • It will put in place the district-by-district coordination that will be key during the 2006 election cycle
  • It will help create a post-modern message distribution system for nationalized issues.

Re: Nuclear Option (none / 0)

Bob-
Would there be an easy way to get our blog signed up for a region rather than state/city?

Re: Moveon (none / 0)

I'm MoveOn's biggest fan, but we need to organize the blogs the way MoveOn has organized email.

Re: Moveon (none / 0)

Word.  I worked for MoveOn.  They're fantastic, but they're not about blogs.

Thanks, Bob (none / 0)

Although I registered at BlogPAC a long time ago, today I registered my little blog from Sacramento, CA -- Curiousity is a Virtue.  I don't often blogpimp, but hey, I guess I can get this one by given the topic.

Thank you for all you do, Bob.  And thanks to every member of BlogPAC -- we can accomplish a lot, one step at a time.

1 to 1 User to Blog ratio (none / 0)

It would be good if one good link more than one blog to you.
