Who knows how the Democrats Liberal are

compared to the Labour Party?  (both what you know if you are from the UK and what you think if you are from this country?).

An hint, look with whom they stand in the European Parliament.

Re: Liberal Democrats (none / 0)

So what!!

In Europe, Liberal refers more often to liberal in economy than anything else!  Many of the parties in the European Liberal Democrats group are right wing party or center right wing parties.

The name (none / 0)

I'm not talking about where they stand on the issues, I'm saying that you got the name wrong.  The name of the party is "Liberal Democrats"

Re: Liberal Democrats (none / 0)

Who are you trying to kid? I don't have a clue what issues the particular parties stand for, but Europe is so much more socially liberal than Democrats that Bernie Sanders and Ralph Nader would be moderate centrists over there.

Are you trying to play some kind of semantics game?

Re: Liberal Democrats (none / 0)

You are right, but this makes the discussions on US sites concerning US politics silly because what seems very lefty here is often seen as right wing in Europe.

I was trying to get info concerning the Liberal democrats to judge if they are different from these other parties (that I know).

Sure. You need to clarify your point. Just about everything I know about British politics, I've learned in the last couple of days from front page diaries on the British elections.

Try laying out the basis for comparison more clearly. An initial jumping off point would be identifying the differences between the British parties and then comparing that to American parties.
