John Hinderaker unhinged

Last week, John Hinderaker, who writes for Time magazine's "Blog of the Year", dived into calling Jimmy Carter treasonous ("Jimmy Carter isn't just misguided or ill-informed. He's on the other side.") This week, Hinderaker has become unhinged:
You dumb shit, he didn't get access using a fake name, he used his real name. You lefties' concern for White House security is really touching, but you know what, you stupid asshole, I think the Secret Service has it covered. Go crawl back into your hole, you stupid left-wing shithead. And don't bother us anymore. You have to have an IQ over 50 to correspond with us. You don't qualify, you stupid shit.

John Hinderaker via email

So I fired off an email:
Hindrocket, you need to take your meds, your sounding and reading LGF now, roflmao.
Waiting for a response...

"Hindrocket"?! (none / 0)

Isn't that a little Gannon-esque?!

Believe it or not, it's his own nickname.

Re: "Hindrocket"?! (none / 0)

Um . . . damn . . . talk about not being able to see the forest for the big manly trees!

More proof that 'Repulican' is a get-out-of-everything-immoral-free card.  This guy practically calls himself "Gannon's non-typing hand" and it goes completely without note.

The GOP is priceless.

This is too funny! (none / 0)

This guy really represents a law firm that has no objection to this kind of crude rant? What kind of clients do they have? If I had a green public defender who reacted like that I'd be very concerned.

Will the RWCM be able to ever interview this guy again, about anything? This is pure self immolation. How does someone who pretends to be a serious public commentator recover from this kind of rant?

As I recall, this guys law firm was in Milwaukee. Seems to me a middle America law firm would be very concerned about this guys mental stability. If this is how the guy reacts under pressure, he probably shouldn't be trusted to answer the phone at a respectable law firm.

Re: This is too funny! (none / 0)

Yes, and there's no greater pressure than that inflicted by an email from someone you don't know calling you on your bullshit.

Poor man. Sure, our soldiers are dying in Iraq, our economy's in a severe downward spiral, North Korea's got The Bomb, but none of that compares to the immense pressure from that one email that set off Mr. Hindrocket.

Yessireebob, that's some stupendous pressure.

Warning! Snark alert!

Re: This is too funny! (none / 0)

The yessireebob was a pretty clear snark indicator, but I understand your caution. I just visited dkos and kos has a front page diary that discusses a show he was on with Hindrocket and Wonkette. Hindrocket was getting into a heated argument with Wonkette backstage about evolution!

A lawyers who gets unhinged by an email and won't even consider the possibility that some people believe in science based science? Obviously not a trial lawyer. If this isn't a clear sign of a nervous breakdown, I don't know what is.

Really, if your teen-ager got this unhinged over an email, wouldn't you consider talking to them about drug use? If Hindrocket isn't on drugs, he needs to get on meds.

Re: This is too funny! (none / 0)

Oh boy is this tempting. I bet we could dig up some of his clients and ask them how they feel about giving their sensative business to a ranting nutcase. Bet that wouldn't be too good for business.

Oh, if only we on the left didn't have moral standards we could have fun with this one. (sigh)

Oh, never mind, just read through the comments on the MN politics page and the swarming is already on big time.

Definitely not a good career mood, IMHO...

Priceless (none / 0)

What's he so mad about?
by Ben P on Mon Feb 21, 2005 at 02:40:11 AM EST

Re: Priceless (none / 0)

Some people are just mad because it relieves their boredom.  This covers roughly 45% of all GOP bloggers.  Most of the rest are mad because their wives tired of their shit and left them.  Well, really, they're just mad they have to pay child support.

My contribution: (none / 0)

I sent this message to him:

>>If Gannon/Guckert, for whom you feel such sympathy, was a media plant under Clinton instead of Bush, you and your whining, hypocritical neo-con buddies would be screaming for a special prosecutor.

But lucky for your boy Bush, the media in this country don't have the cajones to do much more than make passing reference to the matter. Cowed, I'm sorry to say, by the likes of you. Pathetic really,<<

For all the good it will do with a demented mind like his.

Hndrocket Responds (none / 0)

For those who haven't seen it yet, Hindrocket has offered an excuse (not an apology) for his e-mail tirade.

A number of readers have written, asking whether an email purporting to have been sent by me, which was posted on a site called Minnesota Politics, is genuine. It is. Here is the story:

He then recounts his life story, where he was rejected by women, "cool kids", and smart people. Each time he was told he was not invited to a party, every time a woman laughed at him when he asked them out, or every time a teacher passed over his raised hand to call on someone who actually knew something, Hindrocket died a bit on the inside. Then, one day, his sould gave in and died, and then he figured out who was behind this conspiracy to leave him unpopular and celibate- THE LEFTIES! (who had infiltrated college campuses through fluoridating the water). And so Hindrocket apologized for becoming the bitter, souless, hate-filled and ignorant a$$rocket who wrote that letter and accused Jimmy Carter of being a traitor...

Or at at least that's the apology  I would have liked to see. Actually, he was mad because people started bothering him after he called for the death of a former President (after all, traitors are met with a rather cruel fate, no?). I can here the violins playing for him as client after client starts abandoning his lawfirm for a less wacko lawfirm...
