The Phil Angelides for Governor campaign is looking for a Internet Assistant / Media Specialist to join our team in January 2006. This is full time position for the duration of the campaign. We offer a competitive salary and health benefits.
As the Internet Assistant/Media Specialist, you'll work closely with the Internet Director and other staff members to develop, implement and maintain the online program. You will also help integrate the online program with other areas of the campaign: A-Team Volunteers, fundraising, events, and more. There is also a strong emphasis on audio/visual and graphics skills, as you will be helping to create original products for the campaign.
Everyday on the campaign you will be organizing and engaging Californians on the internet, but with a real-world impact that will affect all Californians.

Job Responsibilities
* Assist Internet Director in managing and implementing all aspects of the online program: website management, messaging campaigns, advocacy campaigns, online A-Team center, fundraising and more;
* Draft and edit written content and other creative materials;
* Photograph, video and edit campaign events and footage;
* Maintain audio/visual files including photographs, video, audio;
* Manage and utilize technology for online communications, graphics, and audio/visual needs;
* Assist in other areas of the campaign when necessary.
Additional Qualifications
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects is essential. A successful candidate should be a resourceful self-starter, able to take initiative and follow through on projects.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills, including strong editing skills;
* Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphics software;
* Understanding of web applications and basic to advanced HTML skills;
* Basic to advanced video and sound editing skills a plus;
* Interest and understanding of politics, campaigns and grassroots activism.
An ideal candidate will have a college degree and/or experience in communications/media, graphic design/photography, political science/government, or related field and 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
Location
This position will be based in Sacramento, CA. Travel may be required.
