More on Cunningham and Bush

Cunningham, like most Republican bigwigs, ran a PAC.  And he gave money to a lot of people.  If you peruse  his donation history, you'll find some doozies (like Count Chocola, for starters).  Cunningham is a longtime donor to George W. Bush, for instance, giving him money in 1999 and 2003.  So we have a known criminal giving money to George W. Bush in the primaries of his first and second Presidential campaigns.

I wonder if Bush will return the money.  Seems worthy of some ink, anyway, part of the whole machine politics angle which Bush is very much a part of.

Is it common to siphon off money 'upticket' ? (none / 0)

So True (none / 0)

Hey where is the publicity about just how much Tom DeLay's fundraising machine funnelled into the Bush coffers?

The sad part is that at least in spirit all these Washington types are increasingly on the take. But the Democrats tend to stay within the laws for the last few years. Perhaps simply it's a question of which party controls Congress...but when you think of scandalmongers from the Donkeys it's Dan Rostenkowski and James Traficant. Or for that matter, the Keating Five and AbScam.

The Republicans on the other hand, are making Enron look bad.
