Andrew D -- Where Are Your Disclaimers?

Andrew D, I just read your sanctimonious and highly biased piece asking insidiously where Kos' and Jerome's disclaimers are... when I found out, only after reading all of your worthless drivel, that you are an employee of Texas state party.  Martin Frost's home state.

I think it is completely unethical for you to post such a piece given your admitted bias (only at the end where people have to read the whole stinking thing).  It is even more unethical for you to post it all the way at the bottom.  Given that blogs are a new form, shouldn't you be holding yourself to some higher ethical standard?  For shame, sir.

If you don't get the hint... (3.00 / 1)

...piss off, Andrew D.

You, an admittedly biased supporter of Frost come over here to whine about bias?  When the subject of disclaimers has been all around the blogosphere where you couldn't help but be informed of the prior tie between dKos, MyDD and Dean?

As Atrios would say:

WANKER!

Re: If you don't get the hint... (none / 0)

Maybe I missed something. Do Limbaugh and Hannity and Scarborough and Coulter make public disclosures of any kind? Are there public disclaimers before every radio show guest begins talking?

What a bunch of sanctimonious clowns, trying to hold Kos and MyDD to a higher standard than journalists, faux journalists and talk show hosts or guests.

Re: If you don't get the hint... (none / 0)

That's a great standard to live up to- "MyDD- As Honest as Sean Hannity."

We should set the standards for ourselves higher so we can be taken even more seiously than those guys, so we can make our message the conventional wisdom, so we can make our visions a reality.

I didn't see a DISCLAIMER BEFORE EVERY COMMENT YOU MAKE!

After all, "Andrew D, As Honest as Bill O'Lielly." isn't such a great standard to live up to.

You know, this sparks a question (none / 0)

Why is it that they come to MyDD and dKos? After all, both the bloggers running these sites are obviously biased, have said they don't give a shit about academic arguments over ethics, and still continue to blog in a completely partisan way for the candidates they think would be the best for the party, progressive Democrats, and the blogosphere.

Hmmm. Why do they still come and post here complaining?

Maybe it's because these are just everyday Democratic blogs? If they think that, then they don't read much. That can't be it.

Could it be because they think people reading these blogs will agree with them? That would make them just stupid, so I dont' think that's it.

Maybe it's to get a good word in for their candidate. Of course, what better way then insulting the bloggers that people like to read. Nope. That can't be it.

Oh yes. These two blogs are two of the most highly respected and well read political blogs in the Blogogsphere. Even with their "ethics" lapses, the audience is here and remains here and is growing.

Get the hint guys. The audience is here and growing for a reason. You can offer us a seat at the table or you can become one of our targets. Your choice. We are going to reform our party with our without you. We're not going to be your mindless ATM next cycle.

Witty comment goes here...

Re: You know, this sparks a question (none / 0)

I posted this over at kos, but GOOD POINT!

Andrew, you come to dKos and MyDD and bring up this shit, because you are trying to hurt Kos and by extension, Dean.  Why?  Because these websites get attention that you could only dream about.  So, you use this 'ethical' schtick in order to wage politics for your guy.  Who you admittedly are biased for.  Not too freaking ethical for someone preaching ethics.  Hypocrite.

My answer (none / 0)

My problem is not bias- I hope they are biased.  My problem is that they are biased towards or against certain individuals and while they sometimes mention that the guys have some connection to them financially, they don't routinely and that is bad for blogging.

Like if I spent all my time here pumping up someone who paid me a bunch of money and I rarely if ever told you about it, that would be wrong.  I'm not worried about bias, I'm worried about disclosure.

And please, we are all on the same side here- no need for vitriolic attacks.

Re: My answer (none / 0)

You are not on my side.  You are repeating right wing talking points to make Hugh Hewitt, Instadummy or Bill O'Falafel proud.  Further, you are a hypocrite.  Let me see if I can't pound this further into your insolent skull:

Sure, go ahead and make up whatever 'ethical code' you like.

Sure, go ahead and fall in with the right wing by smearing Kos and Jerome with your invented 'ethical code'.

Sure, go ahead and come over here and preach to everyone else claiming you are only interested in 'what is best for blogging...'  sheesh

But, don't get testy when I turn around and do it to you.  Just following your example.  Straight from the Andrew D school of invented ethical codes to bash my political rivals whilst simultaneously crying martydom over ethical code pure as the driven snow.

I, went ahead and made up an ethical code that suited this political fight.

I, went ahead and fell in by using it against you just as your example led.

I, went ahead and bashed you for being the hypocrite you are.

Now, you can take your invented 'ethical code' and run back to your blog or stay here while I beat you over the head with my invented 'ethical code'.

Otherwise, PUT A DISCLAIMER BEFORE EVERY COMMENT so that newcomers know what a hypocritical biased Frost plant you are.

See, isn't this fun? :)

So what's the point? (none / 0)

Why did you come over here butting your nose in on somebody else's business? I think Kos, Jerome and Chris have all been extremely clear where they stand. If you don't agree then you can handle your disclosure problems any way you want.

You take care of your business and let everybody else take care of theirs. If you shit on somebody else's living room carpet, don't be surprised if they aren't particularly pleased. Who appointed you Ethics Czar Of The Known Liberal Blog Universe?

If you think the reaction here was vitriolic, let me suggest you visit LGF or Free Republic and lecture them about their ethical obligation to disclose.

if you don't like opinions, make it private.

I'm getting grossed out by the blog dons.

Too much power for the vapid.

Andrew Speaks for Himself (none / 0)

[reposted here to get the point across]

I just wanted to add that Andrew speaks for himself and not for the other co-bloggers over at my blog, Burnt Orange Report.

The disclaimer issue is over.  I posted that on my blog.  It should have nothing to do with the DNC race.

As for the DNC race, I think that the attacks on Martin Frost have been unfair in many ways (which I've noted on my blog), but these are two unrelated subjects.
