Also to consider, as these state endorsements roll out, other states will want to get behind the winner, especially as Dean has stated he wants to inject money into the states to build them up. I can't imagine a state chair wanting to be on the wrong end of the receiving, or being worried about that.

This could be the first signs of a landslide.

Roemer is all but out. Leland was never really in, Fowler doesnt appear to have the support, neither surprisingly does Rosenberg, Webb doesnt have any momentum, and Frost looks to be headed the way of Roemer, only his large TX support is buoying him up i think now.

Too late for another ABD candidate to enter the fray.

I am betting good money it's Dean, without a runoff right now.

Well that, and CNN giving Donahue a show again to compete with O'Reilly. I think I would cry if that happens.

I was watching "Fox & Friends" just a few minutes ago(7:15 or so), and the host, whom I cant remember his name, was having a conversation with Ed Gillespie, the RNC Chairman.

What was funny, is that it wasnt Gillespie who was doing the attacking. It was the host doing a supposedly subjective interview. To his credit, Gillespie was actually reasonable for a partisan.

The host said something like, "So, if Dean gets to head the party, isnt he going to take the Democrats on a hard left turn?"

And he basically continued on with this slant for the entire interview with that smug Fox shit eating grin.

With Dean a favorite for the Chair, we gotta be prepared for this type of thing.

The DNC Chairman race has narrowed to three persons for DNC Chair and basically three sets of choices as shown above. It's that simple.

The one central question the blogosphere and the 447 DNC Delegates should be asking at this time is: Who best can make us the MOST WHOLE PARTY and eventually the MOST WHOLE COUNTRY?

Is it Howard Dean? I think not. The 2004 Primary Election Cycle shows that. He lost because he wanted TOO MUCH REFORM. The DEMOCRATIC AND INDEPENDENT voters did not buy into that and I do not thing the DNC Delegates will either. Howard Dean is more of a power consolidator than a power sharer. Being a power sharer is the true hallmark of a good leader. He will never unite the Centrists Democrats and the Conservative Democrats.

Is it Martin Frost? I think not. He is TOO CONSERVATIVE AS A DEMOCRAT. Why in the heck did Martin Frost try to buddy up to George Bush and the Republicans in the last election he lost? That is unforgivable and shows his true character as a person and his lacl of loyalty to the Democratic Party. He will never unite the Centrists Democrats and the Liberal Democrats.

Is it Simon Rosenberg? I think so. And while we love all fellow Democrats, Simon is the one guy who can bring all the parts of the party together. He, as Bill Clinton can attest to, knows that the smart strategy to win races is to lead from the middle. Call him a Centrist or New Democrat if you must. But he will be the uniter to make us a WHOLE PARTY and help bridge the gap in all fractions of our Party.

If you to compare the whit/brainpower/strategic wisdom of Simon Rosenberg to somebody ... look no further than Barack Obama. Barack will be President one day for one simple reason ... his ability to make us a WHOLE PARTY and a WHOLE COUNTRY united for all of our common good.

I am proud to have supported Barack Obama and I am proud to support Simon Rosenberg.

You see my reasoning for supporting Simon ... let me hear from you why I should think otherwise.

 His losing the primary hit me almost as hard as Chimp winning this election.  It took me ages to get over disliking Kerry for beating Dean.

 I didn't think that Dean had quite the low-key "guy in the background" persona for the DNC chair, but I felt that in order to be a viable candidate, he needed a position with visibility.
 In truth, I thought that the chair position would not be his cup of tea.  Dean is a brilliant,  limelight guy.

 At this point, I realize now that Dean's major drawback in any position is the very blog that empowered him.

 It has become clear that Daily Kos is a Frankenstein.

At any given moment, it morphs into an unwieldily mass of mob droids.

 They cheer whoever is in the graces of the leader, and stone anyone out of grace, and anyone with valid comments that rub the leader wrong.

 I've seen the mob catcall and jeer and gangbang.

 The blob has grown to the point of 300,000 hits a day (so they claim).

 This gives the lead writer tremendous power and influence.  To make or break a career.

He recently stated that journalistic ethics don't apply to him.  He's a blogger.

 Dean has nurtured along something that he will find himself at the mercy of.

 He owes too much to the blog.  He is in too deep.

Howard has been a breath of fresh air.  He has awakened
the party.

But my worry is that he could also be a liability.
 When Dean rises, the blog leaders - who think that ethics are something of a joke - will be attached at the hip.

FYI: not everyone in utah is a gun-toting, religious-fundamentalist republican.

also, in case you forgot, PETER CORROON, howard dean's cousin won his election as mayor of salt lake county.

A handful of Democrats are upset with the state Democratic Party chairman's endorsement of a former presidential candidate to lead the Democratic National Committee.

State chairman Jay Parmley on Wednesday said he supported Howard Dean to lead the Democratic National Committee. Dean is one of seven candidates seeking the post.

Parmley and party chairs from Mississippi, Florida, Utah, Washington and Vermont have also endorsed Dean's bid for the chairmanship to replace Terry McAuliffe.

State Rep. John W. Carey and Sen. Jay Paul Gumm, both Democrats from Durant, have objected to Parmley's backing of Dean.

"This endorsement certainly does not represent the majority view of Democrats in my legislative district," said Gumm.

"If Mr. Parmley thinks Howard Dean is the best choice, he is seriously out of touch with the overwhelming majority of Oklahoma Democrats and Democratic elected officials."

Parmley downplayed objections to his decision to support Dean, saying the former Vermont governor would provide party leadership that would help all 50 states, not just states that traditionally support Democratic candidates.

"He is clearly the best at managing and putting resources into states," Parmley said. "He's a great motivator and can energize people."

Parmley is voting in place of Sen. Debbe Leftwich, D-Oklahoma City, who is a member of the Democratic National Committee.

Leftwich said she's disappointed in Parmley's choice.

"My name came to be associated with this endorsement by offering my proxy some time ago to the Oklahoma Democratic Party Chairman Jay Parmley," Leftwich said. "Given Mr. Parmley's endorsement of Governor Dean, he will no longer hold my proxy. Like most Oklahoma Democrats, I do not believe Governor Dean shares our values or is the right person to lead our party at this time."

Parmley said Dean's desire to reach out to local parties should strengthen the presence of Democrats across the country and hopefully pave the way for a Democratic president in 2008. He noted that the post is not an ideological position and Dean would not be affecting policy or the party's platform.

"I didn't support Howard Dean for president and wouldn't support him again," Parmley said. "But I believe he has the right energy and enthusiasm for this job."

Dean led the presidential race through 2003, raising more than $40 million and recruiting thousand of supporters, including young people who hadn't engaged in the process before the 2004 election.

A new DNC chairman will be chosen at a meeting in Washington on Feb. 12. Former Texas Rep. Martin Frost, former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb, New Democratic Network president Simon Rosenberg, former Indiana congressman Tim Roemer, former Ohio Democratic chairman David Leland and party strategist Donnie Fowler are also seeking the position.
