Kerry to Announce VP Pick In "Days"

While this could also mean that Kerry will announce his VP pick in 50 days, according to Inside Politics and Judy Woodruff, Kery will announce his VP pick in a "matter of days." Since it happened on live television, I do not have a link yet. Considering his short list, I hope he chooses Edwards, simply because I believe Edwards will do the best job helping Kerry win in November.

Obligatory, and possibly final, VP poll follows.

Update: Kerry campaign denies this claim. CNN has also retracted. That will teach me to run right to my computer after seeing something on television.

I have now changed the VP poll to "when should Kerry choose his VP?" Offhand, I think he should choose during the convention itself, so as to guarantee the highest ratings possible.

VP choice (none / 0)

I definitely agree with naming a VP during the convention. That will give him help during the 5 weeks til the Repub convention. The VP choice should get some free media coverage.

I think the significance of this (none / 0)

has much less to do with the timing of Kerry's pick -- which I think can be well justified at whatever time he chooses; I just hope he is choosing thoughtfully -- and much more to do with the insipid reporting of Judy Woodruff and CNN. They have become so breathless to give anything that might resemble real news, they never bother to check sources anymore and they spit out the most inane blather as if it means something significant. Judy Woodruff looked blissful when she announced it and slightly humbled when she recanted. But there's no doubt that her slight embarrassment at being immediately proved wrong will not prevent her repeating her error-prone reporting.

On the Kerry VP line, though, I did hear something interesting. Apparently, Edwards decided at the last minute not to attend the Taking Back America conference. Some speculation that this was because the Kerry campaign didn't want pix of him out there with the "lefties." I heard it on TV so no reason to believe it but it sounds like plausible analysis, if the basic facts are true.

VP -when? (none / 0)

Definetly during the convention.  I am torn between Clark and Edwards, both can help with the south.  Which would help get up out of Iraq.
Kerry is being given the biggest mess-who would help most?  Clark!  He would bring experience with wars, experience with peace.
What would Edwards do to help with Iraq?
