You are a disgusting (1.63 / 11)

race-baiter.

My neighbor, who is a prominent Republican lobbyist, was commenting the other day on the inspiring nature of the Obama campaign.  He was repeating the positive vibe.  I then asked him about issues such as Rezko and the disconnect between his rhetoric and how he actually votes.  He was surprised and shocked.  He said, "I haven't heard any of this."  Obviously he's not a reader of NoQuarter.  But he is a politically astute, well-informed guy.  When he heard the true story of Obama's past (including Obama's Kenyan ties and muslim relatives).  He flipped.

This is the kind of asshole who forwards the madrassa email.

In the meantime, we have to watch the equivalent of a papal coronation, as the media and fans exhult in the Obama Messiah, the black Jesus come to save us.

Go to hell.

Hold on a moment! (1.75 / 8)

When did Larry act "racist"? When has he lied about Obama's record? Just because you disagree with Larry doesn't give you the right to smear him as some "troll".

Going around telling people (1.66 / 3)

about his 'muslim relativess and "Kenyan ties" in order to persuade them to vote against Obama is race-baiting.

There is nothing wrong with being Muslim (2.00 / 1)

and Obama is not Muslim.

Was it a 'factual assertion' for Bush to smear McCain of having fathered an illegitimate black child in 2000?

Sorry, (none / 0)

Confused what Larry was saying with someone above.

But anyways, my point is that it is NOT okay to take advantage of racism in order to get your candidate to win. Obama has Muslim relatives, but the clear implication of telling someone that is to imply that Obama himself may be Muslim, and thus is somehow connected to terrorism (as many Americans unfortunately think.) By doing this, you are not directly lying, but the end result is to create misleading impressions in someone else's mind, which is wrong.

Let me give you an example: Suppose I went out and told people that Clinton has been suspected of murdering Vince Foster, etc. This is technically correct - many right-wing idiots do believe this is true. But it ignores the fact that all official investigations into this case have concluded that Foster committed suicide, and no reputable official seriously believes this.

Poor choice of words on my part (none / 0)

I meant discrimination instead.

But you're obviously refusing to address my main point here.

Re: Going around telling people (2.00 / 1)

I believe Larry Johnson merely alerts readers to foreign policy concerns members of the intelligence community have raised with respect to Obama's inappropriate intervention in Kenya's recent election on his cousin's behalf.   One writer who articulates these reservations is Joe Wilson, the husband of Valerie Plame.  I quote:

What gives us confidence that Mr. Obama will be stronger the next time he faces Mr. McCain, a seasoned political fighter with extensive national security credentials? Even more important, what special disadvantages does Mr. Obama carry into this contest on questions of national security?

How will Mr. Obama answer Mr. McCain about his careless remark about unilaterally bombing Pakistan - perhaps blowing up an already difficult relationship with a nuclear state threatened by Islamic extremists? How will Mr. Obama respond to charges made by the Kenyan government that his campaigning activities in Kenya in support of his distant cousin running for president there made him "a stooge" and constituted interference in the politics of an important and besieged ally in the war on terror?

Re: You are a disgusting (1.66 / 6)

You need to read Larry's other articles on Obama/Kenya:

Obama's African Hubris »
By Larry Johnson on Jan 31, 2008

Update on Kenya Update »
By Larry Johnson on Feb 11, 2008
Here's the latest installment from Garrett Jones courtesy of FPRI.  It is worth remembering that the Kenyan opposition leader, Odinga, insists that he is the cousin of Barack Obama.  Although Obama was raised by his Caucasian grandparents and had no meaningful contact with his Kenyan father during his childhood (and did nothing to invest himself [...]

And there are several more where those came from.  Use this already set-up search string to find those pieces.

THEN THERE is this from Joe Wilson's op-ed in the Baltimore Sun, which is re-posted in full at No Quarter:

How will Mr. Obama respond to charges made by the Kenyan government that his campaigning activities in Kenya in support of his distant cousin running for president there made him "a stooge" and constituted interference in the politics of an important and besieged ally in the war on terror?

FULL Wilson op-ed:  "Battle-Tested."

"African Hubris." (1.75 / 4)

You're misinformed (2.00 / 2)

I was banned because I opposed the intolerance of targeting and troll rating certain commenters rather than comments.
In that case, the commenter had a good record, but apparently at one time went ballistic over the Israeli government's influence on our government. His retaliation included a gang TR'ing ALL his future comments.
ALL of them - even those unrelated to Israel.

There's nothing about me that's anti-Semitic.

Re: So says someone who got (none / 0)

now obamabots will accuse others of anti-semitism if they refuse to support obama?  What other forms of blackmail will be deployed in order to quell dissent and debate during this primary?

This is bad (2.00 / 2)

There always has to be some supporters on both sides that fling the right wing spin and smears. Cna't the RW do it themselves?

One thing about the "Messiah" comment. I am actually starting to hear Obama referred to a messiah "like", etc. by some of his supporters. I have heard people on the radio and in person actually using terms like that. I know it is few, but it is there and some of the graphics, etc. on his website push this without saying it.
