I have to say, the onslaught of ignorance and unfairness has done what Obama so far hasn't been able to do on his own, and that is raise my sympathy and respect for him about 20-fold. So maybe these idiotic attacks aren't a bad thing at all.
Fine, then. At least this gives him a chance to show what he's made of, and so far, he's gotten my attention in a way no amount of triangulating would.
