The real question though is how much on the ground organization is available to the Democratic candidate. NY-24 is very winnable and people I'e spoken with like both Roberts and Arcuri.
Can they raise the money?
Will they get the assistance necessary to build a serious campaign?
Is someone organizing the feet on the ground to maximize the overwhelming advantage Democrats will have in New York this year?
Do these things and chalk up a win.
Roberts' campaign manager is the person who ran the Wilkinson campaign for DA in Tompkins County. Gwen Wilkinson defeated a 4 term Republican incumbent, George Dentes. The significance of this would seem to be that ROberts has got a campaign manager who has experience in defeating Republicans.
Roberts seems to be spending a lot of time in the Cortland/Tompkins part of his district these past two weeks. Arcuri must be campaigning on his home turf, though he's supposed to come down to Tompkins County in a few weeks to share the stage with Roberts.
I think that after these two candidates face off people will start to choose who they support. There's no question though that whoever wins this primary will have support of Democratic voters.
What will the Republican campaign on in NY-24, that they will bring their record of failing Central NY to Congress so that they can support more Republican failure at the national level?
