That's excellent news. A good friend of mine is from the area near Dartmouth, and he's a recently converted Republican who has been totally fed up with the religious right's impact on their party, and he voted straight Dem for the first time ever. I've been talking politics to him for years, and it looks like it may finally have paid off.
Man, that's really great news from New Hampshire.
The Republicans had fought for a long time to keep the ballot option of straight party line voting - it had traditionally worked in their favor. Some R's warned that it would come back to haunt them, and this cycle it did. I haven't seen any exit polling on straight line ballots, but from anecdotes, there was a huge number of Dems and Undeclareds that voted that way - helping create the tidal wave up and down the ticket...
