I would like to call you attention to the Voting Rights Act of 1971.
42 U.S.C. 1971
'No person acting under color of law shall . . . deny the right of any individual to vote in any election because of an error or omission on any record or paper relating to any application, registration, or other act requisite to voting, if such error or omission is not material in determining whether such individual is qualified under State law to vote in such election.'
Should it come to your attention that any officials were taking enforcement actions which rejected voter registration forms based on the use or non-use of 80 lb. cardstock, I thought it might be useful for you to indicate which section of the US Code specifically the offical was breaking, prior to your sending him or her out into the field.
Thank you for your time,
