reform or status quo? (none / 0)

its not clear to me what makes fowler a reform candidate? it seems to me he is a product of the status quo that he claims to be running against. you can be sure that fowler will turn to the same group of people, and DC based operatives, who make up the sort of incestuous beltway thinking that doesnt think anyone outside DC has a clue as to what needs to be done to becomae a majority party again. seems to me fowler is just pandering to the asdc and the netroots so he can put in place himself and others in need of a job.

Re: reform or status quo? (none / 0)

I have posted this in other places, but wanted to point out that several candidates have made their careers in DC -- Rosenberg, Frost, Ickes -- while others have made their careers outside DC -- Fowler is one of them, but so is Dean, Webb, Malcolm, and Kirk.  (Who did I leave out here?)  Anyway, the question I have is how can the DC folks claim to be 'outsiders' and how can the non-DC folks operate in Washington?

Re: reform or status quo? (none / 0)

Fowler would have no problem with Dean as DNC Chair, and he understands how the blogosphere works-- that's Reform enough for my 'test'. There is a sort of DC vs outside DC meme, but it's too shallow to build anything off of it, a Reform vs Status Quo is more apt here. However, next thing you'll here is Roemer/Blanchard/Frost talking about the need to reform the party...

Re: reform or status quo? (none / 0)

i would like to throw out there the idea of reform as meaning--winning elections. the status quo at this point is 14 years of musical chairs of the same people saying the same thing about "building the grassroots" all the while there is no accountabilty from the grassroots when the same people keep losing elections.

please remind me what winning elections has fowler worked on?
