The first creation from Italdesign Giugiaro has been revealed from its Automobili Speciali road vehicle division. Slated to first make an appearance at the Geneva Auto Show next year, the beauty is dubbed as the Special Car. The car might seem to have a slight resemblance to the Lamborghini Veneno, and this might be because they got designed by the same genius-Filippo Perini, formerly Lamborghini’s head of design. At his time at Lamborghini, he came up with some beautiful designs such as the Huracán and the Aventador; he then got transferred to Italdesign a year ago.
Filippo describes the Special Car as a characterization of both sides of the same coin. The bottom features of the car are geared towards performance on the track which includes some sleek aerodynamics. Its touring purpose is facilitated by the smooth lines it offers, and the top half features are just exceptional.
The hood comes all wrapped up in aluminum, and is made of carbon fiber both externally and also the internal structure; common features found in the Lamborghini Huracán and Audi R8. The Special Car also gets the engine inspiration from these vehicles as it’s fitted with a V 10 5.2-liter engine. Italdesign hasn’t yet revealed the horsepower capacity, but it states that it will be able to achieve a 0-62 mph speed momentum in under 3.2 seconds with a max speed of 205 mph.
Only five cars will get built by the Volkswagen Group-owned company, and they will be targeted towards collectors. Through some available upgrades comprising of performance-boosting specs, the lucky individuals to own these cars will get a chance personalize the vehicles.
