Dick Armey: The Epitome of Privilege

"Dick Armey is the epitome of those people with power and privilege who are insured against the vicissitudes of life and want no government assistance for any suffering except their own," concludes Bill Moyers.

One day Americans will wake up to the fact that a class war is being waged in this country. One day Americans will realize that the GOP stands for the maintenance of a system that benefits a select few.

Re: Dick Armey: The Epitome of Privilege

YOu know, why is it that Obama cant summon all the Democratic Senators and force them to have a group summit where they go over ideas and finetune them. Have a workshop where thinktank experts achieve clarity in the message the way Republicans have their own message machine?

A lot of the healthcare proposals need to be framed in a way to hit visceral points in people's minds.

Example: when people talk about freedom of choice, what choice does the average citizen have RIGHT NOW? I have a decent healthcare plan, but unless I change jobs I have NO Choice in my health care plan.

When people talk about tax money going to ACORN, why dont Demcrats retaliate with more venom against much much worse contractors like Halliburton and Blackwater which get lots more tax money and have committed LOT WORSE and a LOT MORE abuses.

When people talk about not having the money to fund healthcare to save lives, why can't they frame it as we are spending more money to fund reconstruction in countries where the return for dollar is much less. And what good is national security spending when the return for dollars per life saved is much worse than a good healthcare system?

its exactly correct that class warfare is being waged by the plutocracy against the average and disadvantaged American. But it has been going on for a long time and there are no signs of it abating, more escalation than anything.

Don't be expecting Americans to wise up anytime soon. Most have bought hook, line, and sinker into the BS individualism and faux freedom sophistry used to dupe the dupes into being their pown worst enemy supporting those whose purpose is to rip off average Americans.

rob from the poor to give to the rich - THAT is the modern USA MO.

Re: Dick Armey: The Epitome of Privilege

People have always been willing to fight a class war in this country.  The real problem is that the Democrats and the New Left are unable and/or unwilling to take the lead on the issue-they are much more interested in "issue" and "group" politics.

The privilege of destroying the nation that provided him with all he has.

They have been damaged by the cruelty they espouse thinking it is the conservatism of Buckley.
