DNCC: Lily Ledbetter

I found Lily Ledbetter's speech actually pretty compelling and moving. This was the culmination of her speech:

Equal pay for equal wqork is a fundamental American principle. We need leaders in this country who will fight for it.

Equal pay for equal work is central to the argument being made for Barack Obama targeting women this week. Look for it to continue tomorrow and Thursday as well. The line at the EMILY's List event was that "Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama stood shoulder to shoulder on the senate floor in support of equal pay for equal work. John McCain didn't even shouw up."

It was also one of the most assbackwards, shit awful decisions SCOTUS has ever handed down.

It's one thing when you're on marshy legal ground... quite another when you're in logic la la land.

Re: DNCC: Lily Ledbetter

the speeches by "ordinary women" were awesome. Most of them better, more concise, more direct, more forceful than the pols'
