Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Crap... That's not good.  He should have been campaigning harder there... Two wins would have looked a lot better.  Hopefully he has a big win in Montana to offset it, or him clinching the nomination knocks it all from the headlines.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

And now we can ease into a giant angry debate about VP now that the nominating season is over.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Either Clinton or Richardson would be my choices.  Leave John Edwards for the Attorney General and we're ready to rock.

Congrats to Sen. Clinton

Both candidates end the primary season on a positive note!

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Congrats to Hillary.  Btw - can we all agree (both Obama and Clinton supporters) that Terry McAullife (sp) is completely insane?  Its a charming sort of insane, but its still insane.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Congratulations to Hillary, yet again.  One has to admit her campaign improved dramatically once she took control of it.  Maggie Williams entrance and Mark Penn's exit were both long overdue but she made the most of it and put her imprint on her campaign in these recent and largely successful contests.  I think it is fair to say Hillary has emerged as a political force in her own right and arguments that she was somehow trading on Bill's presidency have been silenced.  Good for her.

I have issues about some of the ways she fought her campaign but there is no doubt that she did it her way and it was effective, just too late.  Interesting and tragic, in it's way.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Big upset. Congratulations to Sen. Clinton. Makes you wonder what would have been the outcome in the Rocky Mountain west had the states had primaries instead of caucuses.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

There are a lot of ways it could have been different.  Two very strong, very close candidates with clearly different base demographics.

The order of the primaries turned out to be very, very important.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Or if they had been held after the last Wright flap.  She ran much better the past month than at any other time in the primary season, I think a combination of both his troubles and her shaping her message better.

May be, May be not

Clinton had the Bosnia flap, which killed any hope that she had for the nomination. But I agree, if the Wright flap came in November instead of April, the story would have been completely different. Lucky for Obama that the Wright flap did not occur in November of 2008 or 2007.

Maybe not so lucky for the Democratic Party, though.   If Wright is truly costing Obama primaries he was expected to win, what's going to happen in November?

Nice to leave on a positive note

Congratulations to Clinton on South Dakota. She fought hard for it and deserved it.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

It's poetic justice that each wins tonight.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Wow... She kind of dissed Montana right there... Technically since they close the polls later in Montana, THEY would have the last word.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

OK, who is the dude in the brown and turquiose "Hillary" shirt behind her at every speech??

Talk about a BLUNDER

Clinton continues to clean Obama's clock.

The "leaders" in the Democratic party prematurely decided that the contest was over months ago. They put their collective thumbs on the scale for Obama.

The party will bleed members for rigging an election (moving up SC because of the large AA population and taking FL and MI out of the game qualifies as rigging) and going with the flavor of the month.

Well, that month has already passed as more and more of these election results clearly show.

You don't have to reward race-bating. You can vote for Dem's down-ticket and send a message to the Dem "leadership" to run a fair contest and to stick their collective fingers somewhere else.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Oh boy.  I don't really like all the Denver chants, but I know how these political rallies can be (very very exciting and emotional, duh).

I certainly hope that Hillary works some of her magic on her supporters to get them back into the fold if she concedes, which certainly seems like it now.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Oh sad face!  I guess it won't happen tonight.  Well it was still a pretty great speech.

Re: Hillary Clinton Wins South Dakota

Wow, plug for the website.  That debt.  I have to say, as an Obama supporter, I think I might just give her some of my filthy lucre, Mark Penn be damned.
