Tracking Poll Update: Still No Movement

Josh and I are up in Las Vegas through election day blogging about the campaign, and our coverage has graciously been sponsored by SEIU, whose organizing on the ground in the state we'll be writing about a little later today.

Here are today's numbers:

ObamaMcCain
Diageo/Hotline5045
Gallup (Trad)5143
Gallup (Exp)5243
Rasmussen Reports5146
Research 2000/dKos5144
Composite:50.87544.50

The composite of these polls has looked remarkably stable over the last two and a half to three weeks since Gallup moved from reporting just numbers on registered voters to reporting numbers on likely voters. During this time period, Barack Obama's level of support has ranged from 49.50 percent to 51.25 percent, while John McCain's level of support has ranged from 43.00 percent to 44.50 percent. In other words, the race has been, and continues to be, stable, with Obama leading by about 6 points and McCain struggling to top 45 percent.

In other polling, CNN's final survey of likely voters finds Obama leading 53 percent to 46 percent, and CBS News polling gives Obama a 54 percent to 41 percent lead -- including an 57 percent to 38 percent edge among those already voting.

We are 2 days out from election day. What are you doing to help enact progressive change in this country?

WONDERING WHY RANKLES AND HIS SOCKPUPPETS KEEP BEING ALLOWED TO GO THROUGH PEOPLE'S HISTORIES AND ZERO THEM OUT.

This time it's "frankfurt", who got rec rate by being boosted by "Miles Outlandish", his other sockpuppet.

IBD-TIPP

Hope I'm wrong, but one of their two final trackers will show a McCain lead.

Re: IBD-TIPP

Why bother hoping you're wrong.  They suddenly closed the gap in their poll today to 2, but does anyone take this poll seriously?

Re: IBD-TIPP

Um, how do you know what their final trackers will show when it's only November 2. They have Obama up 2 today and have had it between +2 and +4 for a month.

Re: IBD-TIPP

I'm not the original poster but if there's ever a poll where I think the pollster might just change their numbers to be what they want it's this one.

You hope you're wrong?

Then why have you been trumpeting a McCain poll lead for the better part of almost two weeks?

To rephrase Jack Nicholson in a few good men

You WANT that McCain Poll lead...

You NEED that McCain Poll lead...

THE LEAD!  I CAN'T HANDLE THE LEAD!

LOL, Esconded is our very own Colonel Jessup...

Hope you're wrong?

Then stuff your concern.  STUFF IT.  You spend WAAY too much time on this site being concerned..really.

I hope you're not in a contested congressional district.  If so, I hope El, Steve, or Ashwyn finds you and kicks you in the nuts for being online expressing your concern all the time.

Re: IBD-TIPP

It's the worst tracker, I agree.  But it could happen, keep that in mind.  It'll be catnip to the MSM.

Their demographics are terrible, I agree.

Re: Tracking Poll Update: Still No Movement

It is no surprise that the John McCain - Sarah Palin ticket has gone increasingly negative down the home stretch.  They really don't have any other options to close the gap.  However, a new negative advertisement has been leaked that is particularly disturbing in its hypocrisy.

http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Leaked _Ad_for_McCain_Palin_Abstinence_Only_for _America

Sarah Palin has consistently advocated abstinence-only education in schools, despite the fact that this philosophy has resulted with both Palin and her daughter conceiving out of wedlock.  Clearly, abstinence-only has not worked for the Palin family, yet Sarah Palin wants to prescribe this in place of comprehensive sexual education for other young Americans.

This advertisement came from the same 527 group that put forth this anti-Obama spot last week...
