Edwards Pulls Out of CBCi Fox News Debate

Here's the statement.
"We just called the CBC to let them know that we're looking forward to their January debate with CNN but we're not going to participate in the proposed debate with Fox. The CBC champions critical issues that matter enormously to the future of our country, and we look forward to discussing them throughout this campaign and at their debate in January. But we believe there's just no reason for Democrats to give Fox a platform to advance the right-wing agenda while pretending they're objective. If there was any uncertainty as to Fox's objectivity, it was put to rest when they attacked Democratic candidates, Democratic constituency groups, and the Nevada Democratic party when their last proposed debate was cancelled for lack of support."
Black America is not being represented by the CBC Institute in this instance, but by Tavis Smiley. Here's Jack and Jill Politics:
There's a whole other layer of activity here to consider. The reason the DNC is able to backslap the CBC's ill-considered partnership with racist "news" network Fox is because there is a rival Democratic debate being run through PBS with emerging black leader Tavis Smiley at the helm.
Tavis has been playing it cool and hasn't said anything (to my knowledge) rapping the CBC. But his actions speak for themselves. PBS is a network accessible to all. The debates will take place at 2 historically black colleges bringing much appreciated attention and resources to these HBCU communities.
